I appreciate this effort. A few thoughts: 1. A more durable design using stocks parts might be better received 2. If someone is going online, or to the electronics store, to buy magnet/motor wire, they might as well just buy an inexpensive 3V electromagnet -- the result will be better, and take less time, for very little cost 3. Likewise, if one is going online or to the hardware store, one might as well pick up something that would be a more durable switch. It would be particularly nice to see a design that uses a more durable switch. 4. Using a projectile that has lift or guidance features -- such as the fins on the nerf dart -- invalidate the experiment -- The motion will not be strictly parabolic. The only reason it would still work, most of the time, is that the target is huge. 5. Using a target that huge invalidates the experiment, as well.
