I noticed that MatPat never considered the possibility of dinosaurs and dragons being related. It’s literally called 恐竜 which means *fear dragon.*
Dinosaurs are literally classed as Earth Dragons in Asian Myth
Bomblaclat 😢
Dragons can have feathered wings as well. Quetzalcoatl is a pretty famous example of one. It’s weird how dragons are so easily recognizable yet they have so many variations across multiple cultures you can have a pretty freaking huge taxonomy chart on them.
The Luigi's package episode and the What is Kirby? episode would be great to see you react to!
I would personally love to see more people react to "Rosalina Unmasked" parts 1 and 2, and I think Matpat makes a few references to those episodes as jokes in the Luigi's "plunger" episode. If you could see all 3 episodes, I would loose my mind in happiness!
You should definitely react to how much does luigi measure
DEFINITELY NEED TO REACT TO THE LUIGI VID ABOUT HIS PACKAGE DOWN BELOW!!!
We should definitely react to the luigi vid
if you mean the one in which matpat talks about luigi's dick, yes
When it comes to these Mario Game Theories, my favourite is the "Bowser's Broken Home" one.
Literally was going to comment on how Eastern Dragons don't have wings when someone on the stream chat beat me to it. 😂
I've heard that typically western dragon stories of stealing Princess kind came of those in the middle ages that found dinosaur bones but didn't know what they were and so related them with dragons
Drakes are literally land based dragons with four legs but no wings
This video should be titled "Best Poketuber Patterz Slowly Loses His Mind Over Yoshi's Lineage".
2:50 Drakes are Dragons without wings
Drakes tend to be depicted as quadrupedal dragons with no wings
“Is Yoshi the name of his species?”
Yoshi is a genus of saber toothed cat. Thank me later.
just to be clear: dragons are NOT an offshoot of dinosaurs. draconidae are actually a split branch parallel to dinosaurs. this means they evolved at the same time, and one is not decended from the other.
There are several types of dragons that don't have wings. Wyrms are long, snake-like dragons without wings or limbs. Lung Dragons are like wyrms but they have arms and legs. Drakes are similar to basic dragons just without wings. The traditional Chinese dragon doesn't have wings.
17:03 Or an AU (Alternate Universe) where Mario + Peach + the Toads, the Yoshis, and Bowser + the Koopas are all on different sides! A 3-Way war! (4-Way if Mario and Peach + the Toads split further) Mario has been teasing Splatoon 3 all along confirmed?!
He also made one about what Yoshi is
The Hydra is a dragon, and it doesn't have wings.
8:19 You’re thinking of Baphomet the dragon is Bahamut. Yes I know it is confusing it trips me up sometimes and I (as a D&D nerd) encounter the two names very frequently, in D&D (at least 5th edition) Bahamut is the dragon god of good, and Baphomet is the Demon Prince of Beasts. (I may or may not stream D&D content)
3:30 The title for Demon King here is Maou-Sama.
You see it a lot in fantasy anime. A less literal translation is Evil Overlord
I think that the japanese word for dinosaur literally translates to "ancient dragon"
the Luigi one is actually what you think it is. it used to have an eggplant in the thumbnail.
I would love his reaction to the Luigi theory
"Dinosaurs went extinct in the old ages"
Ever heard of birds?
Yes pat, react to matpat discovering the length of Luigi’s warp pipe. It’s great. Very memed back when the video originally came out, very surprised you’ve never heard of it
2:50 you can’t have a dragon without wings. Me: looks at my picture of a Chinese dragon.
In Mario & Luigi partners in time you can find an enemy that is basically a koopa chamaleon. Probably the closest thing to Yoshi that is officially labeled as a koopa
Yoshi munches alot more than just koopas.
Yoshi having a shell has nothing to do with genetics, shells are a clothing item in the Mario canon
Yoshi is a Yoshi and that’s it
wyrms are a taxonomic offshoot of draconidae that are primarily subterranean and are identified by the lack of wings and legs
Wyrms are a type of dragon without wings.
One of the people that work at Nintendo is called yoshi so he named yoshi after himself
A Wyrm is a type of dragon that dosen't have wings.
You need to react to more Mario Theories from the Game Theory Channel! They are so mind blowing and entertaining!
wingless drakes are an offshoot of the drakonius family that have 4 legs but no wings
I've seen plenty of dragon illustrations without wings basically every illustration I've seen of sea serpents wich are just dragons that live underwater don't have wings but if sea serpents don't count to some of you I've seen a few illustrations of dragons that live on land that didn't have wings
lol, the folder's in his browser say SUBSCRIBE TO PATTERRZ. Although I was already subscribed guess I should check if a new video is up.
All of the Mario videos from MatPat are entertaining.
pat: dragons have wings
asia: you serious?
Just mentioning we do not think they are ancestors of dinosaurs also they are not just technically not dinosaurs they are very different animals
It feels good knowing i haver a bigger meat than luigi according to matpat
well he could be a chinese dragon cuz when he gets out of the egg he has shoes at the start so actually its a part of his body
Sea serpents are aquatic dragons with no wings
Lindworms from Scandinavian mythology
Yoshi is a dragasaur😂
A dragon without wings is a drake
We actually learned that dinosaurs are feathered quite a few years ago.
T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas... Yoshi"SAUR"
12:54 try watching dorkly Mario blow up a tower full of people ( well not people it kroopa droopa ) it canon btw
I don't know any dragons that wouldn't have any wings but I think maybe a Forest dragon or some kind of thing that lives in the trees I would assume
Toads have names in Paper Mario and Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door
Dragon's can be whatever the hell you want them to be. Many cultures all over the world have different ideas of what dragon's are, and the only feature they all at least somewhat share, is that they are similar to snakes and/or reptiles.
ampitheres are taxonomic ofshoot of draconidae that are airborne most of their lives, and as such have evolved with wings but no legs
An earth dragon has no wings
1:22 DO IT
i totally came from stream and not from the notification
5:51 What did he say?! Lol
Yoshi so happy
When it comes to dragon mythology there are different subcategories of it. Some of which don’t have wings.
drakes have four legs and no wings
Me going nerdy x1000 at 2:50 and saying that there is a dragon without wings, he's called Glaurung and he was in the armies of Morgoth against the Eldar and he was killed by Turin and-
You should react to the Luigi measure up video
Came from stream
No one’s going to say anything about MatPat‘s clickbait thumbnail? It literally implies that Yoshi is Bower’s long lost child. I wanted to see how he’d try an force those two together.💀
goodra and dratini dragons without wings
Hi Morepatterrz I love this and I hope you have a good day and you are awesome and my dog die by a car 5 day ago I still sad and you make my day little more happy
An important detail that was overlooked, in Japanese the word for "Dinosaur" is Kyōryū, which broken down translates to "fear dragon".
So more than likely the devs were just playing with wordplay for the characters and Yoshi
Also I hate to bring up real world biology, but having a simliar trait to another species doesn't mean they're directly related, that's just convergent evolution. Bats and and birds both have wings but they aren't closely related, like at all. Even IF Yoshi has a shell, that doesn't mean he's related to koopas.
Can you please react to all matpat's theories about luigi's and yoshi and Kirby?
I am still waiting for the lugi size reaction
Game theory: bowser is most likely Mario’s pet turtle! While there is no evidence, he is still Mario’s pet
Yoshi is our home boy
Oh god Pat has not seen the Luigi episode
Yes, we need to see you react to the video about Luigi's genitals!
Yes you should
I think a lot of cops are bald or have very short hair because long hair is an easy thing to grab onto and pull in a physical altercation. It's just safer for them to have short hair or keep it pulled back into a tight bun.
Dinosaur don’t wear boots ether pat
2:53 The Chinese Dragon don't have wings
Spike from My Little Pony doesn't have wings...for several seasons
he does now lol though he did have to almost die to a Roc
@@NoOne-el9bg *for several seasons* learn to read fake fan
@@eeveefennecfox How am I a fake fan? I only said he has wings now and almost died to get them, nothing wrong with clarification.
Ngl I would have preferred a reaction to the original Yoshi theory. I don't dislike the theories that end less solidly, just.. more satisfying when they are I guess?
Wingless Dragons are called Drakes, there is different classifications of dragons based on body structure. Dragons, Drakes, Wyrms, Wyverns, Basilisks, Orientals, Amphitheres, Fae Dragons, Hydras, Cockatrices.
My God. My dad's also a bald police officer.
Yes
I didn't know you can fuse animals like dragon ball
from stream checkkk
2:50 they are called lindwyrms or drakes
or they are called a Dracorex aka a dinosaur, Which translates to Dragon King, A dinosaur with spikes and frills reminiscent of a mythical dragon.
Yoshi is a Dinosaur and Dragon hybrid, plenty of evidences to support that fact if you're willing to dwell deep into the media. People are not entirely wrong for choosing one, the other, or both.
Yes we should know how long Luigis pingas
5:00 ever heard of toadsworth
came from the stream and komodo dragons pat its a dragon but it doesn't have wings ^^
I NEED IT
There is dragons whit out wings but I prefer whit wing but now not all dragons have wings
The Chinese dragons.
Yoshi is a species name with one specific Yoshi having the same name. Same with Toad. For a while in the old English adaptations Bowser had the same naming convention but that has since been changed.
Actually, you are correct about one particular toad being called Toad, but also, all Toads (except Toadsworth because he's cool like that) are [Insert Color] Toad.
@@jacobs5546 Yeah I am aware they have Toad in their name. Though not all of them. There are many named Toads in other games with names, usually puns like Plenn T. or Tace T. but there are Toad characters with just a plain name like Jolene.
I didn't actually know that. That's cool.
In Japan they were called Kinoko-zoku (キノコ族), literally meaning Mushroom People and at that time Toad was the name of an individual rather than the species
japanese and chinese dragons don't have wings and there's some anime dragons (like dragon ball z) shenron doesn't have wings and there might be more dragons without wings but I can't think of any right now but those are a couple of examples that I'm aware of
you should react to his theory about how Megaman actually is meant to lose.
Did you know it's Cannon that Megaman can't lose due to the power of having a huge D Which is the source of his powers according to the official comic from Brazil
wyrms dont have wings
There are dragons with no wings their call the draco however they still are dragons because they're part of the species
what about a Dracorex, a dinosaur, Which name translates to Dragon King, The dinosaur has spikes and frills reminiscent of a mythical dragon.
