1. I like the IMP. When things were going south for COBRA (as always) & they had to pull back. The IMP and BATS saved Cobra Commander a good number of times. 2. The meaning of life: Be excellent to each other & PARTY ON DUDES! (Bill & Ted) As much as you may think this is a joke, it does sum put life very well. Giving it meaning.
I love the IMP I think it has total nostalgia feel for me as it is one of the few Cobra Vehicles I remember getting brand new in box. that and the Cobra Pogo . so for Years the IMP was my stand in for the Hiss tank which was long outa circulation by the time I started collecting Joes
This thing looks good as a SAM launcher. The landmine deployer was a strange idea. A friend had things thing and I think we used it as a MIRV using the "landminds" as little bomblets. I'm looking forward to CC7!
I thought the IMP looked good. I liked the way the vehicle looked and especially the missiles. Good detail. Another good review Commander. Love the shirt by the way. Thank you
@Mr I disagree entirely. If Siskel and Ebert give Rocky a terrible review (they didn't. They loved it. Just using it as an example), but it's my favorite movie, I'm not gonna say to them that it was a great review, because they gave a negative review to a movie I adore. That's what you just did. Hoodie panned a vehicle basically, that you like, and you told him it was a good review. Makes no sense.
@Mr Ohhhh. You're not the original poster. You're just replying to me. My bad. I didn't notice. And, I'll say no. I don't think Hoodie is a particularly good reviewer. He owns stuff he hates, and dislikes cool figures and vehicles simply because they're not military enough, or whatever. Plus, I know some other things about him that are not exactly....endearing, shall we say.
I had the Cobra Imp and really didn't know how to use it in a play scenario. I still liked it but I do remember being a tad bit disappointed that it wasn't a Cobra Tank of some sort. This does bring back a lot of memories though. Thanks for the video.
@@ralang999 ... I think that is what I did with it as well. I didn't know what to do with the mines and it was a little under powered against my Havoc and Mean Dog.
Another classic. I was worried about watching as wasn't sure I was ready for the meaning of life. I mean I like the Monty Python movie but sadly no ideas on the meaning of the life. Never heard of the Imp. TH-cam made me realize I don't know much about GI Joe but glad to learn. Top 10 vehicle lists should separate small, medium and large vehicles. I know that is not related to anything but felt good to get it off my chest. Thanks.
The IMP is also in issue 75 the Cobra Civil War. Look on the 5th page to the left of Zartan on his Maggot. Also on page 18 on the very right of the Maggot in the background but it isn't fully colored.
I had this vehicle as a kid. I never knew what the yellow things were as my mom had opened it up for me and put it together before I ever saw it, certainly never got to see the box. I did enjoy playing with it but seldom was it a first choice.
I like the look of this vehicle but never realized how small it is. With figures standing beside it doesn't seem much larger than the Triple T or a wheeled vehicle like the VAMP. With a Toxo-Viper on board I wonder if the IMP would be used to deploy biological or chemical weapons? Cool tank overall and a great review as always!
This was my last vehicle and I am not sure why! I was getting too old to collect Gi Joe but I still kind of loved it. It will always have a place I'm my heart as the last vehicle I got@
I can see the IMP pairing well with the pogo, another red cobra vehicle. The IMP could drop a mine field while the pogo jumps over the mines to strike and then jump back to safety with the pursuing vehicles hitting the mines and the IMP gunning down any infantry.
First Impressions: 1:08 in; The Meaning Of Life--an under-rated Monty Python film, better regarded than Life Of Brian, but not as beloved as The Holy Grail. 🤣
I liked this vehicle, I just used it as a missile launcher when I played with it back in the day, those missiles looked quite mean, if one hit a Havoc you'd make quite a mess.
I always had a soft spot for this little guy. know the red isn’t an exact match, but as a kid, I thought it was close enough that I used to use the IMP with my Destro and Iron Grenadiers figures (even going so far as to not put any of the Cobra emblem stickers on mine). I would use a standard Iron Grenadier figure as its driver, and later, when the TARGAT and AMP figures were released, I’d stick a couple of them on the foot pegs in the back. That way, when I’d play with the IMP, I’d have an IG drive it up at the start of the battle, deploy the TARGATs or AMPs I was using as air support, launch its mine-carrying missiles (the warheads of which would continue on on their own to cause an initial bit of damage at the start of a battle), then retreat under the cover of the TARGATs/AMPs.
IMP is a small Cobra vehicle. Yep. You got to ac-cent-tchu-ate the positive E-lim-i-nate the negative And latch on to the affirmative Don't mess with Mr. In-between. Also Life is a Board game and Breakfast cereal.
The meaning of life?to continue on even though this old world can be scary and mean.go on and do good anyway.and also to look forward on TH-cam to reviews of the toys we loved past and present by presenters who love it as much as we do.:)
I'm sure the dudes riding on the back would dismount prior to the missiles being deployed. Therefore, it doubles as a personnel carrier, if the troops don't mind destroying their knees in the process.
The infrared could reference the display console being compatible with night vision devices….or it could be used to locate large groups of enemies and target them through their heat signatures. Deployment of mines for maximum efficiency over large groups of enemy forces……vehicles also have infrared signatures……..so dropping mines on enemy support convoys would have a negative influence on enemy operations.
I have some plans to make the Imp out of LEGO bricks. Just need to finish converting the file. As for the meaning of life, when life hands you a lemon you jam it into a canoe hole.
Actually, the Cobra Imp represents the meaning of life quite well. You may be going forward, happy with the progress you're making, but then all of a sudden some Viper fires these mines from God knows where, they land right in front of you and send you flying. That's life! The joke's on you, HCC! 😆
Yep, that certainly is a vehicle alright. They should have just done it in grey plastic, made it play elevator music, and called it the Cobra B.L.A.N.D.
"Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations."
FASCAM. Family of Scatterable Mines. US Army uses these wtih great restraint. Typically, via an MLRS/HIMARs, which also carry rockets and presicion missiles. I always assumed the IMP was used the same. And, I altered using the yellow mines as bomblets or cluster munitions Fun video

Toy care tip: grab a small, soft bristle paintbrush for 2-3 bucks. Great for dusting those hard to reach areas!

As a kid I loved this little guy
No idea why but it was a favorite of my collection
The meaning of life is focusing on where you are right now. Good night and good luck. 🐍
I always liked the IMP. I saw a custom somewhere that had an upgraded machine gun to a more realistic “ma deuce” style 50 cal. It really set it off.
I like the Imp. Cool vehicle.

That's one of the few GIJOE vehicles I still have.
I thought the IMP looked good. I liked the way the vehicle looked and especially the missiles. Good detail. Another good review Commander. Love the shirt by the way. Thank you
He thought it was mediocre. You liked it. How is that a good review?
@Mr I disagree entirely. If Siskel and Ebert give Rocky a terrible review (they didn't. They loved it. the missiles/mine dispersal thing is a neat gimmick.

Same feelings here. I usually used it as part of a COBRA position that the Joes would take out

Cool. Thank you for reviewing this vehicle. I will look for this type of vehicle body for customisation. :)
I think its a neat little vehicle. Colors are cool. And tremendous detail, which you could've mentioned at the end.
I will always remember the commercial advertising the Imp as a rival to the Swampmasher

The Imp is hands down one of the best Cobra vehicles of all time goes especially well with Toxo Viper, released the same year 💥💥💥
I love the Cobra Imp great review
Meaning of life: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
I really like that vehicle, it seems like it could be made in rc form easily with one of those ripsaw tanks.
Have you noticed the IMP has the bogey wheels of a semi truck? Weird…
@@chrismayer3919 I have not, guess cobra was fabri-cobbling that day.
Some good wholesome fun! Is that the meaning of life? I think so!
Love how most Cobra missile launch vehicles would absolutely kill the driver
You done good Sir 👍

Brick red. Amazing vehicle and review. New subscriber!
I would call it brick red
Cobra out here inventing never-before seen colors
Naughty, naughty. Tricking people like that. You little imp.
The meaning of life? Watch Monty Python's Flying Circus The Meaning of Life to find the answer. Scrap Iron would be the perfect driver for the Imp
Fellas on the back foot pegs- look out for that launch! Could be rough....Driver beware as well... I actually do like this!

Awesome video! Hey how do I get involved with the Cobra convergence?
I always used my IMP to deploy my Cheerios into my breakfast.

The imp comes with 24 mines which is 42 backwards which is the meaning of life the universe and everything

Hard out there to be an IMP.
"Well, it's nothing very special. Uh, try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations."
I like it well enough. Not too fond of brightly colored guns but oh well
Stiletto was crimson too
You told us how you felt about the vehicle before you even reviewed it. Well done. 🙄
Life has no meaning except for the meaning you choose to give it.
Paraphrasing French Existentialist philosopher and playwright Jean Paul Sartre.
I believe its known as "scab red".
Redd Foxx, Maroon 5, & Ron Burgundy.......LOL
I think the IMP should be manned by BATS, because of the hear and smoke from the missiles
The meaning of life is 69, I read that off a nursing home bathroom stall
Just looking at it I would assume that it launched chemical attacks, so the Toxo-Viper works for me.
The meaning of Life is for it to be eaten!
😎👍
It’s called a dusty rose colour
Brick red
I think I missed something.. What’s the” meaning of life?”
Rust Red.
