Creating a Quail Fire Place Screen

This is a custom fire place screen that is probably the most intense project I've done so far. It was really fun to make cause it required a lot of different areas of metal fabrication like forging, welding, along with sculpting. I learned a lot through this process and made some mistakes but overall I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

The three quail sculptures are based off of bobwhite quails. The scrap metal I used for the first one is mostly bike gears, bolts and nails. The second is made from mostly cutlery. And the third is made mostly from tools, butter knifes, and metal cut offs. I used a propane forge to do the blacksmithing work of texturing the frame and doors. I used a mig welder to build the frame and a tig welder to create the birds.
