This is like the second role she took, at least in my recollection, that Katherine Hepburn once interpreted, wouldn’t be surprised if she eventually ascended to legendary status
@@duchess8762 No the OP means this is the second role she’s played that the late great Katharine Hepburn has played. Kate played Mary Queen of Scots AND Jo March in Little Women back in the 1930s and now Saoirse Ronan has played both those characters in movies of her own.
Someone brilliant is managing Saoirse Ronan's career. She's a mediocre actress but she gets excellent roles. She will end up one of those talentless megastars like Keira Knightley.
@@ericswanson533 You don't? Oscars are regularly awarded for mediocre performances in mediocre movies. Watch Heretic and Conclave scoop up multiple awards at the next Oscars even though they're complete crap. I don't think you understand Hollywood. It's about money not talent. A marketable face is what an actor needs to be successful in movies. Nothing else.
To get an Oscar it's who you know not what you do, I agree with you she is not that good an actress, cate blanchett should have got the Oscar, for playing the part of the great Queen Elizabeth, but GP got it instead, refer to my opening gambit.
This film was ruined by adding ethnic characters that did not exist. There were no black nobles in the court of Queen Elizabeth 1. Nor was there a Chinese lady in waiting in the employ of Mary. The effeminate man in a dress that Mary addressed as "sister" was laughable. An otherwise good movie ruined by revisionist nonsense.
We are certain there was at least one person of African descent at the Scottish Court around this time - Nageir the Moor. Anne of Denmark also had African servants.
@@Ftanftangfnarrr My point still stands. Lord Randolph was not black, and there were no Chinese lady-in-waiting in Mary's court. Give the script of a historical story to a woke woman and you end up with rubbish.

Vanessa Redgrave played Mary of Scotland in a film in the early seventies and Glenda Jackson Played Elizabeth Tudor in the same film.
"Our swords aren't just for show" is a great line to say to the homosexual who tricked a heterosexual queen into marrying him.
She loves her brother despite everything 💯
In this film they had queen Elizabeth meeting Mary queen of Scots, which was incorrect.
She does look like Mary Queen of Scots.
she looks so bad ass, have to watch this sometime again, not only this bridge scene which is good too xD
theres only like 3 soldiers wearing helmets
how to tell who fights for who in that bridge side scrum
No madam, I am not a Catholic, but I would certainly have fought for my 👑 Mary 🏰 ⛪ 📿. Nae bother 😮😅😊😘 ❤❤❤❤.
This is so well made.
Her brotho could’ve gone to Heaven, would have.:. prob not car troubles asking him
And again thank u soooomuch
Greece and Europe: all the kings and queens would fight alongside the men. The Scots and English had cowardly rulers.
You forgot about Robert the Bruce? Or James IV who died at the front in Flodden?
The costumes are more fantasy than real historical clothes and armour. I dont understand why they always feel the need to change what is given.
keep crying
After watching this, if ever I have the grace, to father a 🧒, and he was a wee 👦, then I would 🤝 dearly 😍 to name him james, otherwise Mary 😊😘 ❤❤❤.

Do you say those things just to get a rise out of people? You don’t get nominated for an Oscar four times by being mediocre.

This film was a load of rubbish, and historically way of the mark Elizabeth never meet her.

I couldn't believe it when I went to see it in the pictures. So politically correct.
Also, did they just wear black and makeup back then?
"wokeism" obscuring History.

The entire movie is historically inaccurate, yet that's the part you choose to get hung up on? An ounce of diversity? Talk about rubbish...
terrible untruth film there were no ethics in the Tudor court '
No joke. And only one episode of Wolf Hall to go
