Now that's a great video on Western Railroading at its best showing my SP trains and seeing Santa Fe trains look great going by the areas of Southern California
At the very beginning when the trains are crossing under HWY58 you hardly see any truck traffic yet if you were to do the same thing today you would see a lot more trucks on it traffic lost to the railroads
Some of that additional truck traffic is due to the massive improvements made to 58 between Mojave and Barstow as well as as an upsurge in the populations of Las Vegas and Phoenix.
These are all scenes from our movie "Tehachapi: SP and Santa Fe Era" 30 years of railroading. Available at www.cspmovies.com
The SP when their engines were clean and no graffiti. Nice and as usual great content.

Yes, for sure more trucks on the 58 now! As a matter of fact it is mostly truck traffic for the most part!

Enjoyed the video. One big thing I noticed was no graffiti.
The SP Eastbound near the beginning appears to have been led by an SD-40T-2, not an SD-45.
I think he meant the helper set was led by the Cotton Belt SD45
And the helper set did have a Cotton Belt SD45 at the head end.
@@TheMann2000 Cool to see an SSW SD-45!
Even had to throw the switcher in very cool footage
Everything they could use to get over the Mountain!
The thumbnail looks to be CP Crest on the Saugus line if anyone was interested.
Yes, I believe you are correct on that one!
