I grew up in northern California and Reno. This brings so many memories back, of being a teenager in the 90's and train watching almost everyday on the SP. I sure miss it. Always something different and unique to see back then.

As a recent Roseville railfanner, I enjoyed this video very much.

Ah-ha! I spy a Chicago Northwestern and a Soo engine-which brings fond memories of midwestern childhood(GN, NP, BN, OR, DWP, DMIR, SOO, MR, CNW, etc). Your videos are very enjoyable and informative; thank you!! Totally captivated by the Sacramento Northern story and your related video. Cheers.

You know that feeling when you hear a song you haven’t heard in over a decade and you get a flood of memories? That hit me at the 1:57 mark. Forgot all about that sound and never even realized today’s locomotives don’t sound like that anymore. Used to hear those engines when I lived in Nevada.

Thanks for posting Charles. I always enjoy seeing first generation power. Especially the high hoods!

Superb photography, again, done by someone who really knew what he was doing. Thank you, again.

5:41 The narration is incorrect as Caltrain is the commuter service that runs from San Francisco to San Jose, not even serving Sacramento: it's an Amtrak California Capitol Corridor train that is seen crossing the Sacramento River bridge.

It would be awesome to see a video of the locomotive re-manufacturing process of the EMD locomotives at Sacramento - if such a video(s) exist.
