Hear it is 2020 and they're still as greate as they were when they first started, see all greate thing's come out of Britain and it makes me so proud to be British, keep Rocking Quo. XXXXXXXX Anita from kent U.K XX
Crazy how Quo kept doing their thing all these years, when music was in constant change, psychedelic 60's, glam rock and punk 70's, new wave and hip hop of the 80's, grunge and dance of the 90's, new metal of the noughties etc etc but there was Quo rocking around the world.
The greatest sadness in the history of Rock is the demise of the THE FRANTIC FOUR, the greatest Rock Band in history. No matter what your bias or ignorance is, STATUS QUO are the most sincere and genuine and authentic Rock Band to plug in or hit a snare or cymbal. As the great John Lydon said in a BBC interview in 1977, the reason that THE SEX PISTOLS liked and respected STATUS QUO was because " they don't care what you think " Therefore, QUO's attitude defines what PUNK Rock is. There are some very intelligent musicologists who've drawn comparisons between The Ramones and STATUS QUO. This is due to the two bands creating their own brand and style that appears to be simple, yet is complex and unique. The demise of the Frantic Four has parallels to SPINAL TAP's. absurdity. When they reformed in 2013 and played sold out shows at Wembley Stadium, and other major venues, Francis ' Frame ' Rossi said that when they looked into the crowd they saw the toughest and hardest men and women openly and uncontrollably weeping as the greatest Rock Band of all time came on stage . For the first time since 1970, Rossi didn't say " ow are ya then, alright? " Which is his trademark intro. This was a very special and auspicious occasion in the history of the Universe and all the Gods were watching and listening. As the two greatest Guitarists and Bass player vocalists of all time conferred with the best swing/shuffle Drummer of all time, they launched into " Junior's Wailing " which knocked the first 50 rows back a metre. The Bass player and Vocalist that performed the vocals on the first 4 songs had multiple sclerosis, yet he gave the best performance of all 4 members. Within just a few seconds they launched into " Backwater/Just Take Me " a LANCASTER/PARFITT classic from their 1974 album called QUO. The crowd were exploding in rapture as the greatest Rock Band in history played the best riffs and rhythms ever heard. When Francis Rossi said " What can I say " Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan, the crowd went berserk, absolutely wild. He was talking about the Bass player and Drummer he had personally driven out of the Band in the mid-80's. Alan ' Nuff ' Lancaster on Bass / Vocals, John 'Spud ' Coghlan on Drums, Rick ' Reg ' Parfitt the best Rhythm Guitarist of all time / Vocals and Francis ' Frame ' Rossi the best Lead Guitarist of all time /Vocals otherwise known as The Frantic Four. Unbeknownst to all STATUS QUO supporters, we had no idea that when we heard " Pictures of Matchstickmen " in 1968, or " Down the Dustpipe " in 1970, that we were hearing the birth and fledgling sounds of the future No.1 Rock Band in history. if you ever want to meet the most ardent Rock Music supporters and you've got a few hours to listen, then have a chat with someone from the STATUS QUO army. Whether they are a Factory worker or a Lawyer, they'll give you the same reasons why STATUS QUO stand alone as The Greatest Rock Band of all time. RIP Alan Lancaster & Rick Parfitt
That was refreshing and underscores that Status Quo is the best (if not happiest) rock band ever! They sure do produce the happiest of fans! Thank you for all the insights you shared.
Absolutely superb analogy. I can't really add anything to what you said. I've loved Quo since early 80s in all incarnations. Saw Francis last year in his solo tour and I was genuinely blown away with how good he still is.❤🎸🎸🤘🏴
1991 was a very busy year gig wise for Quo. I watched them twice that year at Old Trafford in the June and then at the G-Mex in the December. Surprised they got through all those gigs that year!
Managed to get a hold of it a few months back... There's also a re-edited version of this same broadcast that I am trying to find were the full footage of Paper Plane is shown without interruptions along with the full intro to Whatever You Want without the Penguin Crew interview. Enjoy!
@@UnofficialStatusQuo I remeber seeing the repeat. If I remeber correctly my brother recorded the first one but I don't think the repeat was recorded as we didn't expect it to be different. I at least worked out the replay to the Brighton Centre 1996 repeat on radio 2 would be different. The Radio Times, which listed revised TV repeats, didn't say that would have revisions. I expected, it did. I only knew this because the repay started at 30 minutes passed the hour and the original was at 3 minutes passed the hour following the news. As they never broadcast the news, should a concert program go over the hour, they would have an extra 3 minutes that need filling. Clearly they still have some tapes to edit from.

Never saw Alan but Rhinos a brilliant guitar player in this own right .Remember this like yesterday .❤️

I've got the repeat that everyone was after. Got it on a disc but wouldn't know how to upload it.
Hi @@dazauto1400,
Any chance you could send me a DVD copy of it?
Cheers
Nice video!!!
Ah the glamour...
sad to say that rick did just that...he rockt till he dropped...rest in peace rick
Who would’vethought that 25 years on from this, Rick would be in the last three months of his life.
Rick seemed like the better singer, he should have fronted the band.
Love Alan, but please don’t beat Rhino over the head.He is very accomplished in his own right.
His solo acts no slouch, sure does get alot of un-warranted stick

Anybody know if they reached the target of £250,000. I don't remember that part from the time, hopefully they got there. Legends 👏
These 3 likely lads in the Astra are probably married/divorced with kids now.
Could be grandas ha ha
150 cymbals? So Jeff used 37 in each venue?? 🙄
Rhino's no Lancaster
Absolutely right. Rhinos much better and gave them a kick up the arse.
