I love how the xp multiplier for combat applies to Prayer too. It definitely helps those people who have sub-optimal prayer training options. And people like me with their chaos altars can get 50m prayer in like an hour with our 24k xp a Dragon Bone rates.
I'm super excited for it! As fun as having pest control was last year for insta max.... it was actually quite boring lol. I much prefer something like scurrius to get combat xp.
1 more quick update since i haven't seen it mentioned, the agility relic "Corner Cutter" has had its description updated on the discord to specifically mention that it "comes with 100% chance to pass agility checks". One of the mods said it was a mistake and unintentionally left off, but conspiratorially i think they added it last minute after seeing everyone complain about how useless it was.
That does improve it but I still think the other two are stronger still. Lol. That would be a funny conspiracy. If only they could do the same thing for the WC relic.
1/6 at tier 4. Given how quickly you can kill him its going to so easy to lvl combat stats, 80k xp from one spine drop is enough to get you to level 48 from level 1.

Scurrius solving all combat skills including prayer is so nice as that's not something you need to think about with region or relic choices. Takes a lot of the power away from things like golden god, wilderness altar and gilded POH altars as prayer is something you NEEDED a solution for otherwise you're cucking yourself. Won't be the fastest prayer in the game but I imagine getting to level 80+ is super easy and unless you want to max, that is plenty.
Lucked out getting Soul Wars pet last league then, cuz I'm not going to be going back there 😂 I like that change though, get your exp playing the game, not cheesing a mini game
Getting these tasks today was a huge treat! Spent the better part of 4 hours digesting everything and putting a starting strat together. I'm ready for that to also be turned upside down when we get the full task list 🤣
Theres probably just 7 tiers since we had 8 last year but that included the main combat tier which is now changed to combat masteries, so essentially removing a tier
The hit to pest control hurts. That’s how I was able to finish out the 25m and 50m tasks for my off-style combat stats and prayer. By the end of the league with combat achievements and max multipliers, it only took a few hours. I suspect it’ll take longer to do with scurrius, and definitely makes the case for Asgarnia a little weaker
I’ve also got a spreadsheet I’m putting together for the first few hours I can send to you if that helps cut down on some of the work you’ve got to do. I am writing it in such a way that it should unlock your first region and up to tier 3 relics without relying on choosing specific relis or regions
I’m super casual so I need to figure out what I Want to try and learn. Leaning ranged, into Zeah to learn COX (hopefully). Then maybe Tiranwin to learn Gauntlet? I also need to consider me burning out when the bosses/regions get hard. Some of the relics I’m thinking the fishing one for food and overgrown for free farming in Zeah. Gotta figure everything else out
very easy but still fun. Introduces you to changing prayers during combat which is something you don't see outside of endgame content or fire cape, so it's a nice bridging gap to push people towards trying fire cape as it is honestly the same level of difficulty. If you can kill scurrius without taking damage (very easy) you can get a fire cape. A lot of the newer mid level bosses are honestly pretty good, not super rewarding in the main game but it's a nice bridge towards harder content
I had no clue about the hand in at Rat King. Ty for this Jack :). I am going range, but messing around with a few Rat King kills, for extra prayer cant hurt.
Ya, it seems really strong for prayer XP atm. I'm kinda worried they may nerf it in some way lol. Considering you can likely blow scurrius up by the end of day 1 and once you max out the XP multiplier then 10 spines are 1m xp
Thank you as usual for the good visuals! Do you think the Friendly Forager relic is now a bit weaker with Varlamore as they announced faster farming ticks and more minigame points? It would still be useful, sure, but I feel like getting 4x or even 8x mixology points for the little amount of herbs you get normally, would be good enough to get a decent amount of potions without needing to rely on the Friendly Forager relic.
If you're just worried about mixology then I agree with you. Normal herbs you collect are probably enough there. If you want access to 99 and higher XP tasks then I think you still want either the passive herbs from that relic OR overgrown. Otherwise you'll have to be good about farm runs.
You probably can but it'll be tough early without prayer. I'll have to do the math for the varrock city museum lamps we can claim. My guess is that would be the easiest way to jump up your prayer initially. Or go bury big bones for a bit.

One thing I don’t understand, and maybe y’all can help me. Has Jagex said for sure that Golden God won’t be in the same tier as Grimoire and Overgrown? I ask because all the relics in one tier look the same (icon wise). All the tier ones have the same stone design. Same for the teleport relics. Same for the utility relics. Golden God has the same stone design as Overgrown and grimoire (look at the little bite taken out of the right side); so why do all the big channels have them in different tiers? Side note: I hope Pest Control isn’t completely dead with the XP nerf, since void range is the highest dps in class. I need games to be running.
Considering last year they put overgrown and ruinous powers together and this year they’re putting another farming and spellbook relic in the same tier, I think it may be safe to say they’re bringing equilibrium back and putting it in the same tier, like that year, but have overhauled it to make it more enticing this year.
I'm not sure if they explicitly said or not, but I think if they were going to show them all in the same tier then they would have when they showed the overgrown relic. Would be odd for them to show 1 but not the other since we already knew grimoire and GG at that point.

If GG isn't in the same tier it would buck the trend set by every known tier. We've got a few days of reveals left and we're missing at least one full tier, so I'm not entirely convinced we'll see another single relic reveal, especially if it's as luckluster as Equilibrium.
Yeah certain shortcuts, and access to some courses require levels but I think the only thing for grraceful is the Re-colours for graceful also counted as tasks in previous leagues as well.
I honestly don't get the trashcan for lumberjack. If anything, pickaxe became the trashcan once dodgy deals was announced since you can steal ore and gems so easily. Sure, the fletching arrowshafts is ass, but logs are the only resources you can't buy. That's just my 10 cents.
It's more a hold over from when I originally made it a trashcan, though I still don't think super highly of it personally lol. The arrow shafts were a real feels bad.

Now i am a bit afraid that they will put a spec atk relic, if any in tier 7 together with the other high end combat relics (like the guardian or executioner level) instead of making a lower level of them like last leagues, which is a bit sad, i just hope the relic is good and dont need you to sacrifice hp like last leagues. Also, i'm not sure we will gert tier 8, it could happen, but there is only 3 days left, so if they do they better be fast tho
I suppose it is always possible they slot combat in at T3 cause you get the double combat XP from there. If they did that I'd think they'd also do a T8 cause the other relics here don't feel powerful enough for a final tier besides maybe TR/BN

i think the x32 prayer xp makes me less interested in Golden God assuming the other relics in that tier are interesting. im also SOOOOOOOO happy they nerfed soul wars and pest control xp into the ground. it was my least favorite meta last leauge it was so boring imo. cant wait to find out what the rest of the relics are. especially the combat tier. im assuming there is going to be no life steal relic since thats in combat masteries and we still havent seen a spec attack relic yet so im guessing that will be one of them. hopeully there are new combat relics instead of just bringing retribution and executioner axe back
I agree. GG seems like a waste now really unless they end up nerfing scurrius handins. Going to be such good XP, even on off styles with no bonuses. I'd think they'll change up the combat relics this year since they have changed up so much other stuff. I like the idea of an elemental weakness application one, maybe a spec one, and not sure what else they might do.

Ya they will for quick xp. I'm sure plenty of people will use bosses and slayer to train up as well. At least for scurrius you can get an instance so don't have to worry about competition at it there.

You have to get all the tea satchels from the tower of life first, and then each tea satchel you trade him = one more 99 or point cap.

I wonder if Graceful will do something else since it's totally redundant now. Basically all agility is.
