That was probably the best _“and live from New York”_ ever. The cast yelling at the tops of their lungs, only to be drowned out by the deafening cheers & applause of the crowd, was magical. It was the sound of pure joy on full throttle, and I loved every second of it. Thanks a million for an unforgettable season, SNL! 🌃💛
I don't think they'd be that emotional if they didn't know it was their last show. They all have other projects, and it's a large class that's been around for 6-8 years. Can't wait to see what they do next, and can't wait for new cast members to get their chance.

Kenan, Cecily, Aidy and Kate majorly helped revive SNL. Each one of them helped bring SNL back to quality by adding their own unique voice and talents. Those four specifically (and the rest of the cast) provided me so many laughs this year, and you’ll forever be SNL legends. I hope you all have amazing careers ahead of you.

@@bidmcms3 Nothing but a straw man. 1) There have been violent insurrections throughout history far before guns were invented. 2) The insurrections weren't smart or well organized; it was obviously a violent insurrection nonetheless. 3) In fact, it almost succeeded. If the timing was slightly different, or police failed to hold some areas, many lawmakers (and various staff) would had been taken hostage/beaten to death by the violent mob either at once or within hours after the insurrections were in control of the area (at least temporarily before more troops could arrive). The Sedition Caucus (most of the GQP) would then have taken the EC votes and destroyed them. Then it would of demanded emergency powers be put into place recognizing that 45* was the "real" potus and unless that happened, members of congress, on both sides, would start to be executed. If the dems/non-Sedition Caucus repubs gave into this, out of some false hope of making it out of DC alive, the GQP and 45* would have assumed power indefinitely (and canceled any incoming troops seeking to thwart the insurrection because they were "rightfully" in power) and purged Congress of all dems before at least jailing them as "enemies of the state". 4) There actually WERE some guns and other weapons of mass destruction like bombs found in possession of the insurrectionists that day. One reason there wasn't a lot of guns is, contrary to what gun nuts think, gun laws do work and thus prevented many in the crowd from openly carrying large military style weapons. Those types of guns are generally banned in the DC, and specifically all guns were banned for the Jan 6th rally. A openly armed mob would have never been allowed to get that far into DC, much less attend a incitement rally, with those type of weapons being obvious. Thus why they weren't carried or at least on display. *You're confusing success with intent: one need not have a very good plan to commit a crime, or be successful at a crime to have still committed a crime. And an insurrection can be, and often has been, a spur-of-the-moment thing anyway. So even if there wasn't advanced planning here with appropriate weapons, or only inchoate/incompetent planning, a violent insurrection took place. Remember, back in Feb. through May of last year, NYC looked like something that, if you made a movie about it, no one would believe you. Kudos for hanging in there.

I'm in my 40s and grew up with SNL. As the drama club kid who organized a high school talent show where we either played bad music or performed a bunch of skits that we basically ripped off of this show, SNL has always been really close to my heart. I've seen a lot of ups and downs with various casts throughout the decades, but I feel like this is SNL's new golden age. This cast is perfect and they really did help us all get through a terrible time. My deepest gratitude to the writers, crew, and wonderful cast of this particularly awesome season.

Cecily and Kate were holding back tears, so they're probably leaving (if not more cast members), which made me cry thinking about missing them next season. It's been so great watching them.

This cold open is gold! Kate, Cecily, Aidy and Keenan have been the pillars of SNL these past seasons and I hope they all don't leave but I know that change is inevitable.
It's really seemed to me for awhile that Keenan was eventually going to take over for Lorne. I don't really base that off anything, just that he's been on so long (almost 20 years) and would make an excellent replacement.
I was watching the cold opening, and I saw those four just standing there, looking emotional. I’m pretty sure those four have been on the longest, and without even thinking, I started to cry a bit. Hopefully they aren’t leaving, but I was pretty sure they were at that moment. They’re my favorite cast members, it would be an absolute heartbreak to see them go.
Damit! Another legendary cast. 😔. Thank you all for the laughter🤣. I'm so thankful, because my daughter and I spent many hours together watching SNL. THANK YOU.

@@billyt8868 They all have 7 year contracts which normally should expire this year, which is why a lot of people are leaving. The only confirmed leave is Mellisa Villaseñor so far. (That could change but for now)

By that logic, I think that she probably will. I hope she does what she wants, because I actually do like her.

1) There have been violent insurrections throughout history far before guns were invented.
2) The insurrections weren't smart or well organized; it was obviously a violent insurrection nonetheless.
3) In fact, it almost succeeded. If the timing was slightly different, or police failed to hold some areas, many lawmakers (and various staff) would had been taken hostage/beaten to death by the violent mob either at once or within hours after the insurrections were in control of the area (at least temporarily before more troops could arrive).
The Sedition Caucus (most of the GQP) would then have taken the EC votes and destroyed them. Then it would of demanded emergency powers be put into place recognizing that 45* was the "real" potus and unless that happened, members of congress, on both sides, would start to be executed. If the dems/non-Sedition Caucus repubs gave into this, out of some false hope of making it out of DC alive, the GQP and 45* would have assumed power indefinitely (and canceled any incoming troops seeking to thwart the insurrection because they were "rightfully" in power) and purged Congress of all dems before at least jailing them as "enemies of the state".
4) There actually WERE some guns and other weapons of mass destruction like bombs found in possession of the insurrectionists that day. One reason there wasn't a lot of guns is, contrary to what gun nuts think, gun laws do work and thus prevented many in the crowd from openly carrying large military style weapons. Those types of guns are generally banned in the DC, and specifically all guns were banned for the Jan 6th rally. A openly armed mob would have never been allowed to get that far into DC, much less attend a incitement rally, with those type of weapons being obvious. Thus why they weren't carried or at least on display.
*You're confusing success with intent: one need not have a very good plan to commit a crime, or be successful at a crime to have still committed a crime. And an insurrection can be, and often has been, a spur-of-the-moment thing anyway. So even if there wasn't advanced planning here with appropriate weapons, or only inchoate/incompetent planning, a violent insurrection took place. Period.*
And I know I'm probably talking to a bot (and if you're not, then shame on you for attacking truth and hating America this much!), but even disinformation from bots needs to be exposed for the unAmerican lies it is.

I'm in my 40s and grew up with SNL. As the drama club kid who organized a high school talent show where we either played bad music or performed a bunch of skits that we basically ripped off of this show, SNL has always been really close to my heart. I've seen a lot of ups and downs with various casts throughout the decades, but I feel like this is SNL's new golden age. This cast is perfect and they really did help us all get through a terrible time. My deepest gratitude to the writers, crew, and wonderful cast of this particularly awesome season.

Actually tho, I usually muted the Trump skits- I'd had enough of him in real life. I will miss the Trump brothers skits tho.

It's really seemed to me for awhile that Keenan was eventually going to take over for Lorne. I don't really base that off anything, just that he's been on so long (almost 20 years) and would make an excellent replacement.

I was watching the cold opening, and I saw those four just standing there, looking emotional. I’m pretty sure those four have been on the longest, and without even thinking, I started to cry a bit. Hopefully they aren’t leaving, but I was pretty sure they were at that moment. They’re my favorite cast members, it would be an absolute heartbreak to see them go.
