I put a tamiya Gold motor in my raider in 1988, the transmission lasted a week.I have a vintage RC collection, there are maybe 3 Rc s, cars “stock motor only” and the Raider is one of them.
I have run like 40 packs through it brushless and it is holding up fine including runs past 60 mph. 🤷♂️. I do run the punch at the softest setting and ease into the throttle though. I had a 15 turn brushed in it before that going all the way back into the late 80s. I keep the gears reasonably clean and nothing else really… just run it.
