It’s the Neova Cu3 lip repair. I have Sjögren’s syndrome so very chronically dry and inflamed lips. The Neova is my HG after trying 20+ lip products. I don’t know how it works with makeup but for PM it’s the most nourishing, hydrating, healing, long-lasting lip care product I’ve ever used. It’s definitely made my lips more resilient. It’s not a dupe for anything since the INCI is pretty unique but it’s occlusive and nourishing without being gloopy

Yay! Kiss of Rose is now back at Sephora! I ordered it during the sale. I never got one when they were limited edition. I’m excited to try it! I loved the original Bite Beauty agave mask too. I wonder if they are going under. So many of their things are sold out and haven’t been restocked since.

On a desperate whim I tried the Aerin rose lip conditioner, I wear it to bed every night and even through the winter I wake up with soft lips that still have a protective layer sticking tight. It’s sold at Sephora and it’s not cheap and I wish the packaging was a little more special for the price but I’m sold Thank you for all the work and crowd sourcing and research you put into this, what an intensely helpful video!

I adore the color and the lasting power however the formula dries out after about a month or so and then its just a pain to use... It's a very unique color, so if you haven't tried it, I would highly recommend it (even if it's just for a month ;)

Anytime! No they aren't similar. Kiss of Rose is a powder formula, reddish copper shade, lots of fine shimmer. VBB Miniskirt is a satin cream, no shimmer, more of a reddish brown. Very different

The only thing I've found that comes close to the Bite Agave Lip Mask is Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream... the ointment. In unscented. The scented one is strong and smells very vintage.
I found that the EM Cosmetics blush in Venetian Rose is also a spot on dupe for Hourglass Mood Exposure, at least on my skin. Thank you for your efforts on this. I feel like I missed some of the online/social media missteps from a bunch of brands since I’m not really in the scene, as it were, online. I appreciate that you called them out, and gave us helpful dupes in the process. Unfortunately I had heard that Naturium’s founder launched her brand in a really shady way, so I’m not sure I’d want to support them. Honestly it’s tough to keep up with all the bad behavior that’s out there.
That’s precisely why I allow people to be forgiven. In the case of Naturium, the launch of the brand was shady but it seemed to be because Susan Yara made a wrong judgment call - wrong - but harmless. To me, that is not the same as systemic racism.
I still haven’t emotionally recovered from the bite agave lip mask reformulation either 😔 I still hold out hope that one day they’ll renege on the vegan thing and bring it back!
The liquid matte “velvet” lipsticks from Em/MAC/BareMinerals are sooo similar (Em and BM are fully identical; MAC is only slightly tweaked) that I suspect they’re from the same manufacturer. I’m not surprised that there’s overlap among their other products. Have you noticed other similarities within those brands?
Have you tried Lansinoh as a lip mask? If you like the original Bite mask, you may like this. It’s 100% lanolin nipple cream. But it is the most occlusive, nourishing balm. Very thick, slightly fragranced. More clinical feeling than cosmetic but it is literally meant for cracked nipples when breastfeeding so 1) totally safe to use on lips and 2) super healing. Think about it- you want cracked nipples to heal ON THE DOUBLE, so this is formulated to be super healing. my go to if my lips are chapped. Added bonus- for a huge freaking tube, it’s $8ish. About 1/2 the price as Lanolips.
It seems like a LOT of Bare Minerals products are going out of stock... it was sold in August last year, so I'm increasingly afraid it's going out of business or being revamped somehow!
MAC warm soul changed because the Italian lab that created the original unfortunately closed. The formula is now produced at another lab so in theory *should* be the same, but it’s not!!! The old one was deeper with more depth!
Here crying in Asia 😭😭. Brands like danessa myricks, cocokind, em cosmetics, c'est moi, innbeauty, bodyography all are not readily available here in south east asia 😭😭

Kiss of Rose is SO much more red/bronze, whereas Venetian Rose is a warm pink. Totally depends on what you like because both formulas are amazing

Have you tried Lansinoh as a lip mask? If you like the original Bite mask, you may like this. It’s 100% lanolin nipple cream. But it is the most occlusive, nourishing balm. Very thick, slightly fragranced. More clinical feeling than cosmetic but it is literally meant for cracked nipples when breastfeeding so 1) totally safe to use on lips and 2) super healing. Think about it- you want cracked nipples to heal ON THE DOUBLE, so this is formulated to be super healing. my go to if my lips are chapped. Added bonus- for a huge freaking tube, it’s $8ish. About 1/2 the price as Lanolips.

MAC warm soul changed because the Italian lab that created the original unfortunately closed. The formula is now produced at another lab so in theory *should* be the same, but it’s not!!! The old one was deeper with more depth!
