All we had to do in the past when I was a young man in the 60's and 70's was go down to our local Western Auto Store and pay 4 or 5 dollars for a brand new GLASS HEADLIGHT AND PLUG IT IN AND GO. We have traded a simple easy life for this BS~!! These guys that do this kind of work are truly amazing and I salute them~!!

They did an excellent job, but I would have left the headlamp in the car and taped off the paint and grill areas with painter's tape. With my method I just sandpaper the lens while it's still on the car. It's a lot less work. However, I can't wipe off the inside of the lens with my method.
Deconstruction of the lampunits seemed to go ‘I’ve never seen this before’. Can you polish a headlight this way? Yes, why not? Will it be watertight again? ‘Lordwilling’.
Смысла разбирать фару не было. Тем более оставлять заводской клей, который после разборки будет комками. Да и самого рассеивателя на долго не хватит - так же пожелтеет
заводскому герметику ни чего не станется, сам так делал -садил на старый , все ок! стекла полировал и без лака они не желтели, стекла были -ишикон япония
This tells you this Toyota was not built in Japan. There is a lot of difference on quality materials used on foreign countries plants of japan brand vehicles. The ones made in the U.S plants are excellent. But the ones made in Mexico,Brazil and Argentine are of very poor quality.

We just saw the Stone Age, these are simple Toyota headlights that can be polished by one person in 1 hour.
They've never heard of brasso or buffing compound. We could flood the market with T Cut and put thousands out of work lol.

You can clean anyway that you prefer but you need to spray with a clear coat with UV protection to make it last.
Agreed. This will not last very long without a uv protectant.
Yes I was also waiting for some sort of clear-coat / UV protection. Specially needed in those tropical countries you would say.
It will take a few months and it is already foggy amd yellow again. You have to spray a clearcoat with UV Protection on it...

Стекло похоже на пластик. Без дополнительной бронепленки или лака долго ходить не будет, опять отпескоструится.

@@saapby нет, они не снимали старый герметик со стекла, он же многоразовый, но там на нем столько песка теперь..... это жесть

I did this to many cars. The only difference is I didn't take the headlight housing apart or off the car and I used UV clear coat sealer.

Simple plastic lenses that can be polished clean at home. Do these people not have buffing compound or Brasso even.

Why do they need to remove the lens from the casing?
Also this can be done on the car with no disassembly at all.

Also if there’s condensation you might want to remove it and remove the condensation and refresh the seal
Also they probably do it so that way five people have a job instead of just one guy doing everything

I don't think they resealed the lens with UV protectant. They'll be yellow again shortly.
800 1200 and mothers head light polish cream in a kit at the zone or O’Reilly‘s auto parts try it it’s simple !! You will feel like these fine workers
