This was so delicious!!! I added carrots, celery and fresh parsley and used bread crumbs instead of cheese. My whole family loved it. Even the baby! Ramadan Mubarak 2021☪️
it's fancy in a sense that it's very different from what people may be used to :-) If you go to a French restaurant and order this dish (here in the U.S.) it's super expensive!
Making this for the second time tonight. The first time it was good, but I had to make some alterations just because I didn't have all of the right ingredients. This time I am following the recipe much closer and can't wait to try it again!
Like a fish pie with mash! I would be more inclined to poach the fish slightly in milk then take out….then fry the spring onions or leek, add flour and the flavoured milk etc to make the béchamel sauce. Put rice in bottom or fish in dish pour over sauce and add mash and then cheese. Either way would be great!
Looks delicious and sounds really easy! Thanks Alia for all the great recipes! Me and my sister are great fans of your cooking =) Cheers from a Canadian morocan :)
Alia, What a beautiful "Fancy dish" !!!! domdabombabc needs to go back to his mom's basement! LOL. It looks simply delicious and I can't wait to try it.
I tried this last week but i did not like the rice maybe with mashed potato will be good, also i had allergy be careful because is not good to put milk with sea food

you dont have to use shrimp, you could use any fish / seafood you want! (calamari, etc.)
Can you not use metal whisk on a non-stick pan

A tip from me...
Don't forget to remove the intestine of the shrimp
Some chefs refer to it as a vein, but is as you say it is the digestive tract or the intestine and should be removed.

Shrimps needed de veining
how we have to eat this sous? with Teflon? you made demage of pot your metal mixer! it's not helthy at all!
translation: don't use metal mixer on a Teflon coated pan it releases Teflon flakes into your food.
I agree with you
How does this look fancy?? It's a casserole.
You forget "Chardonnay" ;)
@. I'm talking about Sauce Mornay with white wine.
@. my recipe in french :
*Sigh* get off your high horse and stop trolling.

HARD TO WATCH & LISTEN: with uncoated whisk on teflon pan. They do make coated whisks to benefit your pans VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
OMG. Marry me. :)
A French "gratin" is basically a casserole
First off u didn't clean out the shit in the shrimp
I hate fruit gratin
