I don't know if vinny or anybody knows, but Chaos Complexx was made by FPI Productions; guys that made some amazing SMW hacks like the Second Reality Project. As expected, Chaos Complexx was made to be intentionally shitty from references of actual bad SMW hacks.

Yeah. Chaos Complexx feels like it's simultaneously a parody of stereotypical bad SMW hacks and of SMWCentral's standards policy for allowing hacks in their site. At least, to me it feels.

@@SilverLining1 well, don't forget some of the "best" features from the hack are from actual hacks back in the day, free from standards and practices.

This is going to be 4 years old in a few months. That's enough time for a child to go from a baby to learning math. High school students would've graduated already. People have diplomas and degrees. Military men have done full tours and went back home. That's 1460 days. That's how long 4 years is. It's amazing what science can do.

This hack birthed such classic sentences as "field of koopers", "this game wil be very aesy" and "BEST GAME EVAR!!!".
2:20 Love how the hacker put a bush in front of the piranha plant to hide the messed-up sprite... just this first time
The year in the title screen of the hack said 2003, so as of this year, Chaos Complexx is 20 years old.
I'm a longtime Vinny Vinesauce fanatic, watched over 100 streams and videos and I can confirm that he never was so constantly happy than playing this romhack. I'm pretty sure he was high :)

The original tilemap with all the sprites was originally expected to include upwards piranha plants, but when they wanted to put the upside down fish somewhere, they ran oit of space on the cartridge and replaced the upward piranhas trunk with it. The only upwards piranhas in this game are vines and the flying ones, so you don't ever get to see the replaced trunk.

I used to do Mario World hacking so I'll explain some things. In the horizontal levels the stages are divided into sections (which is the width of one screen), depending on which screen you put a vertical pipe will determine it's color. Since the two tile wide pipe was put on two screens it has two colors.
As for the Piranha Plant with the fish stem, the piranha plant coding wasn't properly finished in the game as the upright piranha plants aren't used in the normal game. Their is however a patch one can use to fix that though it seems he didn't apply it.
what about the podoboo and YOSHI PARTicles/odd colorsm
@@bobosmith101 I believe Lunar Magic allows you to manually edit color palettes per level. Not 100% sure as I don't do romhacks

@@bobosmith101 the potaboo particle is usually what happened when you placed something on the rong super gfx potaboos itself are really hard to use on lunar magic and the yoshi is the effect of placing yoshis on random shit because yoshis take 2 sprites to make which meant by somewhat placing yoshis with unintended spries cause those glitches
Example yoshi +baby yoshi
(Yoshis head is somehow connected to baby yoshis?)
Yoshi +too many sprites AAAAAAAAA
(Losing head)
And yoshi and castle/causing his toinge to be mutilated

The reason Yoshi's face looks like "that" is because there are fireballs. and the fire balls are supposed to be only in the castle, (which Yoshi cant go in) making his face all glitchy.
