Thank you so much for posting these videos. I’m 14 and have never been on a volleyball team. I plan on trying out this fall for the team. I haven’t really played volleyball before so I’ve been practicing a lot. Haikyuu also encouraged me to go for it. If anyone has any tips or advice I’d be glad to read it.
Make sure you practice everything and don’t focus on one specific thing. Many people make the mistake of practicing for one specific position but you never know if someone has had more practice or is better fit than you, so if you don’t have skills for other positions it decreases your chance if being recruited. I’m also 14 and trying out for my school’s team this fall, I never got onto the team last year because I couldn’t make it to try outs 😔
Just practice and try and figure out how things work by youtube and trial & error, I guess. That’s what I’m doing.

Okay i have a question. When i pass, sometimes i will get a ball high up on my platform so i have to jump up a little so i can get my platform under the ball...is this okay or is this a bad habbit? Victoria I love your videos!! I enjoying learning from you so much!
This is not a good habit, but don't worry because I used to do the same thing! Practice keeping your feet on the ground the entire time.

you pass 3 in a row with a little adjustment hop, and the one you hopped the most was the most accurate...
I'm sorry, but the first response should have been a question:- when you do that do you still put the ball to target? Are you accurate or not. If you are accurate, it's not a bad habit, if you're not accurate you need to correct it. The most important thing in passing is to be efficient and accurate so- The more tools you have the better. Float serve flight path is very unpredictable so if you need to make a split second hop, to adjust height it's ok!!

I had tryouts a few weeks ago and this helped so much! I was looking up videos on TH-cam, messaging the coach asking her for vidoes and tips! I made the team and this for sure improved my passing. We have our first game already in a week😬 I’m very nervous so I’m gonna continue practicing!

So for my college volleyball team my coach wanted us to pick our sports hero and I picked you because you are so positive and you talk about mental health which I suffer from anxiety. You are also body positive which I’ve always struggled with my body image, I also picked you because you get so excited after a play and your so focused on the techniques!

Thank you so much for posting all your videos! I’m going to tryout for my schools volleyball team next year and i’ve only played my towns rec league, which is way less competitive. I’m 5’2 so i want to make sure i’m good at volleyball to make up for my height. I’m also horrible at setting but all of your videos have helped me improve so much!

Ahhh, this is all super helpful. I'm in my second year of high school unfortunately though our school doesn't have a volleyball club which totally sucks but after the pandemic is over I'm hoping to find a volleyball club elsewhere and my ideal position is libero so I really love all your tips!

hi victoria! i have been a fan of your videos for quite some time now, and have always been looking for a video like this. i am a young libero and I play at a high level, and serve receive has been a hard part of the game for especially since I had a tough coach. I am going to try out these tips, but I was also wondering if you also had any tips on how to deal with a coach who is tough and like plays with your mind, so like every time I make a mistake I get token out, but if that happens to other girls, they don't. thank you for reading this and I really do struggle mentally with volleyball, and I need some tips because sometimes I doubt myself and I feel like I don't belong on the team I play on now. thank you so much and I wish you the best!
