I was just looking at the Ceriatone the other day! Thank you for the video. I would love to see a video on that Peavey Triple XXX of you'd like to do it! Keep rocking!
Don't worry, I've been neck deep in the XXX schematics lately to plan a video for it. I wanted to maybe pick up a JSX also and compare both of them, looking at the schematics they are nearly identical inside and it'd be a cool thing to talk about so I'm kind of just waiting to see if a JSX pops up for a good price. Cheers
Nice video! I was just about to pounce on a AH50 Deluxe that popped up on Reverb a few weeks back. Ironically, I didn't because I couldn't find enough decent videos on it, and it sold before I woke up the next day. Might be the one you bought, hahaha. Great demo either way. Not jealous. Nope. Nuhuh.
Don't worry - there will be more. I missed an AH50 more than once before I got this one, and at the moment at least you can still order a brand new one for a pretty reasonable price, you just have to wait 8-10 weeks to get it. I originally wanted a KK way back and thought I'd wait for a used one rather than the 4 week build time... I didn't get it for 2 years. Haha!
I have had a Bonehead and the Sub 2 forever and I’ll be putting up for sale. Local pick up only. Best clean tone I’ve ever played with on Channel 1. Channel 2 is killer for rhythm. Channel 3 is excessive gain but rad when EQ’d. Sub 2 works good with extended range. Won’t compete with your bass player if he’s playing below you. I’m getting into Baritones so might keep it. Let me know if interested. Thx for the video!
Yes I do! Now that I've had it a while, I'm much more into it with a boost in front, it's extremely cutting in the upper mids and with a boost I can roll off the highs a little without losing the punch. Personal preference of course - great amp.
@@totallyradguitars959 Nice! Do you prefer this one or the King Kong? Cause I had a King Kong with the Chupacabra voicing that I really loved but had to sold it. Now I’m looking to re-buy one OR go with the AH Deluxe OR Leviathan OR a Splawn Quick Rod haha
@@bengirard1984 Ah man that's a really tough call. I like the King Kong a lot because it's instant gratification, and I like the dual gain controls with the separate bright switches, but I've been getting more and more into heavier music lately so I like how saturated it can get. The KK has way more gain than the AH to my ear. On the other hand I have a 2006 Splawn QR you'd have to pry out of my cold dead hands, but that one may as well be a single channel amp - the KK's "clean" channel is much more usable. I've heard the newer Splawns are superb but I haven't had one newer than 2018. I'd say, AH if you play classic rock/metal, and don't mind boosting for heavier stuff, but the KK will do modern metal better even unboosted. However I feel the KK doesn't quite do the more vintage sounds quite as well, although it's still very good at it. Splawn is the wild card, you either get it and love it, or hate the mids voicing (people call it "honky"). I don't like the way the Splawn sounds for stuff like AC/DC, Zepp, etc, but anything 80s-VH and up it rocks. *Lots of personal preference here though
@@totallyradguitars959 I’ve been trying to get my hands on one since I started playing 14 years ago. My dad told me they had a factory in Connecticut (my home state) and I thought that was the coolest thing. Turns out, they’re great guitars and I still want one.
@@TylerJohnstonGuitar Very nice. This one is from their earlier era when the factory was in Chicago. The move to Connecticut was sometime in the late 90s when they got away from the more "shred" guitars like this one and started making those very fancy carved top models, of which I've only seen a few but hear excellent things about them. It's too bad they went under since they had some really incredible guitars. I'd also really like to have a Scarab someday.

Still have the Bonehead rig?
I have a Ceriatone 18w TMB model that I love. Considering a 50w plexi style model. Which would you pick the King Kong, AH, or another?
Great video. That ceriatone is nasty!
Do you still have the Ceriatone AH100 Deluxe? Cause to my ears, it seemed to sound great!

Is this similar to a HBE or the Friedman od100 deluxe?
BE100 Deluxe.
@benjamingirard1167 thanks!!!! This is more brownish than the Friedman in a good way, love it!
Bonehead sounds pretty good.
I agree - it's dark, definitely not a tight metal amp without a boost but it has just a killer voicing to me.
That Hamer is sick man, is it a USA model?
Hey! Yep - USA, 1990. I've only seen one other with a maple fretboard like this one and I would LOVE to have another one.
