He has expressed interest in coming back on again (he has been on once more in a roundtable discussion) but I will have him back as a solo guest soon too. Hi. Great show as always. Because of Chris, I have been inspired to start messing around with the Variax controlling my Helix but have come across a bug. Just wondering if anyone else has come across it or has a work around. I have a simple patch, just amp and cab. Variax set to per preset. I have locked the tone control to 10 within Helix so that I can use the tone knob to control gain and channel volume on the amp. This allows me to use the volume knob to thin the sound and the tone knob to set the amount of gain, from clean to heavy distortion and also reduce the channel volume as the gain goes up. Works great until I have the tone knob down for clean as I change to another guitar model. Although the tone is locked at 10 I think the model switch takes its tone setting from the knobs physical position. The new guitar model starts with tone at 0 even though Helix says locked at 10. If I turn tone knob up and then change guitar model the tone comes back and then if I turn it turn to reduce amp gain the tone stays at 10. Basically I think the change in Model reads actual tone position rather than helix preset. Help Please If it worked it gives complete control over tone, thin gain to thick clean using both knobs to blend the tone perfectly, as long as I don`t change guitar model in preset or snapshot. wow man great interview awesome band black stone cherry, good on ya getting this one! ive been loving my wolfgang man. i had to return the first one, but the second one was great. just needed a fret level, but other than that im keeping it for sure. question about the wolfgangs, is there less room on the fret board on the edges on the two E strings? it feels like i have less room for fretting the high E especially. but the nut is centred dead on
Sorry you had trouble with the first one. If you find that your high E string is a little too close to the right edge for the fretboard, a common fix for that is to loosen the 4 bolts (a bit) at the neck pocket and you should be able to align or straighten the neck. It may be hard to see any difference, but believe it or not, a couple millimetres can make a huge difference. As you nudge the neck holding it straight, tighten the bolts back up. Let me know if that helps!
the new guitar is centred perfectly, but not much room for error, on either side. just when i eye my other guitars i see more room on either side, especially high up the neck. might just take some getting used to
EVH & Gear TV im getting used to it, this is becoming my goto guitar, im loving the neck now feels so good with the rolled edges. if anything itll stop my sloppy playing lol

Keep me updated on how it works out for you. It is a pretty narrow neck.
