  • Want to learn how to play Nash but don't know where to start? Confused by all the combo videos and waffle? Don't know how to SONIC good? Well this is the tutorial for you!
In this tutorial I cover what I believe are the core beginner combos to learn before going on to learn the more difficult hit-confirm and link combos. I also briefly cover Intermediate Combos, punishing, jump-ins and anti-airs :)
    V-SKILL & V-TRIGGER
VS1 is useful vs fireball characters otherwise I would opt for VS2. Nash is a pretty beginner friendly except for his V-Triggers. VT1 is only 2 bars, combos are kinda tricky but you vs the lower levels side switching might be quite effective. VT2 does more damage but 3 bars so takes a bit longer to get, still is kinda tricky to use but perhaps easier than VT1.
    NASH 101
Run away full screen, H Sonic Boom (the slow one) then use H or EX Moonsault Slash to get in as they are plus on block. You'll see every online warrior do it, it is tricky for people to get around when they don't know how to deal with it. DON'T rely on it, a single gimmick won't improve your game even if it gets you the fake epeen points early on. Learn the basics and fundamentals. Also start every round with M Sonic Scythe, safe on block from that distance.
    TRAGEDY ASSAULT
L M and H versions take away meter from your opponent, stronger the attack the more meter it takes away. EX gives you a little bit of health. I don't really see it used much in professional play, damage and oki are always the priority.
    CRITICAL ART SHORTCUT
What I found is doing a 3-in-1 with CA (e.g. s.HP xx M Scythe xx CA) is actually quite hard to time because M Scythe is too slow so I will do the full super motion (QCB QCB+P) in this instance however a 2-in-1 with M Scythe xx CA seems quite reliable (QCB+MK QCB+P) hence this is what I have suggested in the inputs. Have a play around with it and use what you're most comfortable with :)
Any questions about the video, combos, notation, character, game, etc. please leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer :)
