Well opinions vary. Boyd Coddington had nothing nice to say and what went down there was not what is acceptable in the car scene and other things he has done has seen him pushed out of rolls. Foose is clever alright but hes a snake.
We used to drive through Rydell Chevy all the time as teens back in the early 80's. My dad had a green 72 C10 which it was still around. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for posting this..Chip is such a true craftsman, everything he designs and builds turns to GOLD. That Chevelle is so cool with the changes he made. I would of loved to see the interior of both builds. 😊❤
@@CarsShopsAndCollections Indeed, and the way it translates to his builds is mind blowing, obviously, but it would have been great to see those drawings up close and in person-- and the cars too 😂 Appreciate you and your team making this video happen.
I use to see Foose car drawings as a kid and thought they were the coolest thing before I ever had gotten into classics. You are right, his attention to detail is amazing. Some might say a perfectionist. Thanks for sharing.
What I like most is that Chip was able to resist his usual temptation to make it a 2-tone paint scheme. This is a breath of fresh air - so clean and simple. A great truck build!
Hey Ray x-c maybe you can critique Chip Fooses truck that took him at least a year to get ready to go to the Sema show, since you're an " expert " on custom vehicle building like you are 😊😅😮😢😂❤😂😊❤😊❤😊
Yes ....Maybe Chip is starting to realize all those older customs that he did were dated as soon as they left his shop.😂😂😂...With all those weird paint splashes and stripes all over the place......Maybe he is starting to understand that his interpretation of a custom is just plain ugly......Yes,he has talent...But talent will only get you so far when you paint "em all weird.
Great content👍 Mr Chip Foose and his Father are the greatest builders of cars that have ever walked the earth. Your a blessed man to meet Mr Chip Foose👍 Have a Good Day Sir
Chip, I 100% agree with your choices on the 1970 Chevelle, 1971/72 rear bumper replacement. Awesome! Never thought of the El Camino front bumper before…
they were pretty EZ to replicate...327 block, 265/283 crank...you could buy the pistons and cam at the Chevy dealer...the homemade engines were typically called a 301
I thought I was the only one who was driven crazy by the fact that the 1970 Chevelle didn't have dual round tail lights like the 1971. It never felt balanced. Right on!
Chip foose is great we all know this. But I luv how he broke the build down and said he wanted it to look OEM,and when Chip popped the hood, the Wowww, Dude 😌 there were no frills under that hood... It was built to look like a 67 pick-up
As a Chevelle purist I can't believe Chip Foose of all people would put a 71/72 tail bumper on a 70 Chevelle, but I guess I gotta believe it, I'm lookin right at it.
I worked a summer job at a local Chevy dealership in 1971, in between my junior and senior high school years. I was one of the "lot boys", responsible for prepping cars for display when they arrived and cleaning up sold cars before the buyer picked them up. We sold A LOT of those Chevelles, they were bad ass and my 2nd favorite model on the lot. Personally my fav was the 2nd gen Camaro. Although it turned out they had some serious problems, I also really liked the Vega, especially the Cosworth Twin Cam that came out a few years later! (I was NOT a fan of the Blazers and Corvettes they were building in the early 70s.)
Bartering at it's very best. I consider this guy to be a God Among men as far as art (any type) goes, I expect at some point to hear his name mentioned along with Van Gogh, or Picasso in a conversation someday
I met him in Louisville KY at an Asian joint. Most lo key guy ever. I litterly looked to my right and here sit Foose. No one even knew who he was was😂😂😂😂
Can you imagine if Chip had have been in charge of GM’s design dept in the laste 60’s through the 70’s. The thinking and carry through he does on his project cars would have already been on the cars he helped design.
It would be cool if they had it run through Saturday and open the last day to the public. They would make $$$ off tickets and still have a few days for industry people only. It truly is amazing inside!
I love the retro vision in that truck. It would have been 100% if it came with a modern version of Chevy rally wheels rather than the current day wheels that were on it at the show. Otherwise, it's perfect.
One of a kind builder and artist, truly a legend !

No words can explain on what that legend comes up with
Outstanding.
I love the simplicity of the builds. Those 2 vehicles are meant to be driven and not to gather dust in someone's auto collection.

Chip gets my vote for best at SEMA 2023. I like Richard's truck too, but the C28 is the best.

I have always loved the DZ302, was an amazing powerplant for it's time.
they were pretty EZ to replicate...327 block, 265/283 crank...you could buy the pistons and cam at the Chevy dealer...the homemade engines were typically called a 301
DZ is 69 only,not 67-68 engines.
@@396M21 DZ was just the 69 RPO. MO in 67, MI is later 68'. Engines were all basically the same. It went to CN in 1970, then was dropped
