Winner of a video, been searching for "how much fragrance oil do you put in soy candles?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Panlijah Inconceivable Position - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for discovering how to become a candle making master and turn a profit minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my buddy got excellent results with it.
From my experience, any stuff titled with candle or soap is expensive. Like candle jar, or pot for melting wax, frosted amber glass for candle etc. Then I search the same product with different tittle, ex minimalist glass jar and milk jug for barista (instead of jug to melt candle). The price is much cheaper and they're same! 😀
A little trick for the paper towel...saw someone else use a rubber band to keep the paper towel in place while pouring...might be a little easier when pouring lots of melts!

I wasn’t paying attention the first few times then I realized something off. I heard you say 50g of fo then later on you say 60g of fo? Btw, I got the DJ wax melt. Omg they smell awesomeness, even the cold throw still spread my room like perfume. No joke hun. You safe haven, holy shyness, i could smell it a few distance away from me. I think less than 6 feets. Mama and I were shocked.

Great video on wax melts. I admit math is not my stong suit at times. Thank God for 35 years of being a nurse! Hi there! I am in the beginning stages of my candle business-basically just have customers from my co workers. Can you talk about how the wax melter does near the bottom/end of the wax? Does it just end up being wasted/is there a way to salvage if the wax melter does not get all the wax out?
You either add wax or put on some oven gloves and pour it from the top. Super simple. You can leave the cooled wax inside the pot until you're ready to use it again.

They are usually cured minimum of 3 days before they are shipped, so a bare minimum of 5 days before they reach the customer! (But most of the time it’s a week cured + when the customer gets it)
Very easy system- just curious though is there a way to use the pot with the spout to pour directly into the container and then add fragrance oil? Do you always have to use the pouring pitcher? Have you made tealights? Thanks again for breaking down the science of it- always the most complex part for me to comprehend.
As in pouring the wax directly into the candle Jar? I wouldn’t recommend 💜 I like pouring it into the pitcher to mix in the FO before pouring into the jar :)
Hi Erica, please could I ask the question of fragrance load for wax melts. If the wax you are using recommends fragrance load between 12-15% but the fragrance oil company recommends using 8-10% of there oils. After they’ve cured and I open them up to put in the warmer, they crumble a little more than I think they should. Any ideas? (I’m using a soy tart wax from candlescience)

I wondered if it’s because I’m using soy, but then when I watched one of your videos, yours seemed to come out of the clamshells cleaner and I know you’re using soy. I wondered if it had anything to do with pour temperature? Also, I just came across the hexagon mold from candle science this morning, and I think I might use that to do individual melts! I’ve found when I use dye chips or liquid dye, it’s much darker in the pot when it’s in liquid form. Putting a drop on a white surface such as a paper towel, wax paper or parchment paper, it’s much lighter and will show you what the end result will be. I find myself adding about 3 more times to get the color I want 😜

Do you find the IR thermometer to be accurate? When I compare temps from the candy thermometer and the IR thermometer, the temps never match. It differs by close to 20 degrees. Have you ever compared both? Thanks in advance.

Maybe I missed it (twice lol) but what is the temp you added the FO to the wax? And does the pouring temp just need to be anything below 160? This is how I do everything with soy 10: I work at pretty high temps. I heat to 200, add FO between 185-190, stir for about 30 seconds and then pour right after (I’m assuming the temp is around 170 at this point) You may need to adjust but I hope that helps!

Question, does soy wax melt down equally? like if you had a 10 pound package of soy wax, does it melt down to 10 pounds in liquid form or does it make less? (im thinking ice and water) Thanks! My thought process is if my clamshells are 2.5 ounce and i have 10 pounds of wax- how many i can make.

@@nataliaservin7530 exchange about 25% of the overall soy wax amount for a harder paraffin wax. That should help.

I just drilled a hole, bought a tap and screwed in a spout. Cost me about 10 bucks for the tap and I had everything else already. My wife loves it!

This is how I do everything with soy 10:
I work at pretty high temps. I heat to 200, add FO between 185-190, stir for about 30 seconds and then pour right after (I’m assuming the temp is around 170 at this point)
You may need to adjust but I hope that helps!

Use a blow dryer to melt the top a little, once it hardens it should be smooth.
If I use this wax pot with an extension cord is it ok ? Have you ever tried it ?

Question, does soy wax melt down equally? like if you had a 10 pound package of soy wax, does it melt down to 10 pounds in liquid form or does it make less? (im thinking ice and water) Thanks! My thought process is if my clamshells are 2.5 ounce and i have 10 pounds of wax- how many i can make.
