- Do you remember Albany in the mid-1980s? I was living in the student ghetto (Quail Street and Yates) when I went out for a stroll with my Yashica 8mm film camera full of Kodachrome, and got some random footage around Washington Park and side streets, with a side trip to Thatcher Park.
The soundtrack is "Silent Reverie".

I miss the 80’s. This is my town. It was great.
Growing up in Albany in the 1970s and 1980s and even early 90s so different than today
I was 10 years old in 1986 and I grew up here in the Capital District all my life, I remember those days, they were good times.
the beauty and the curse of Albany is that it could be any place in any time; this video shows that perfectly. thanks for uploading.
Thanks for this. Nice to see Thatcher too.
I love this kinds of footage! Thank you for sharing it, it looks somehow beautiful
great video great memories thanks.
awesome! saw a little thatcher park in there. what gets me most about seeing footage of the mid 80's (and even early 90's) is the cars! thats where you really see the big difference. you very rarely see those old school cars anymore. good stuff!
wow skiing in washington park Amazing vid dood
I remember Albany Lark St well.. My girlfriend and I had a very interesting lingerie adult novelty shop on corner of Lark and Lancaster St. I met her while visiting from NYC at the ever popular 288 Lark St bar where she worked as a batthender. She always wanted to open a lingerie shop so...we did. Her name was Liz Armstrong and I'm going back to 1981 - 1983
I would love to hear from you if you remember our shop. Great memories..
mugged or shot? are you even from Albany? smh People act like Albany is dangerous, only thing dangerous is these college kids who have no respect for our city.
to be honest, i grew up in albany then I moved to the Bronx, i found the bronx much safer. I had all sorts of issues in albany.
Those spanish women in the Bronx
are pretty sexy.
+animalhouser54 Maybe he was referring to penal colony times lol :D But hey, are you saying college kids aren't capable of muggings and shootings?? hehe.. C'mon.
Muggings and shootings only happen in certain parts of Albany if you keep your nose clean generally will be OK and safe
