Thanks for this video!!! 1993 represents a fantastic taste of vibrant dance music, the eurodance Beat, and the alternative rock music. I must say that there'is many classic songs. My favourite Sweet Harmony by The Beloved

So many great indie/alternative bands in the Jan/Feb '93 chart. I feel like I am 13 years old all over again.

Pulp Razzmatazz is a classic, even better than their hit Common People

It actually reached number 1 in the U.K. singles chart in 2009 after a re-release

Puss by the Jesus Lizard charted high as it was a split single with Oh The Guilt by Nirvana. Re Evolution by The Shamen is one of the most unusual singles ever to hit the chart

Slim pickings, especially the February entries. It needed that sprinkling of reissues.

Thank you for this Francis. I was eight at the time and remember most of these songs first time round. Eurodance was making its presence felt at this point. I remember the very expensive video at that time of Peter Gabriel's. Shame Shanice was a one hit wonder here. An underrated ballad and voice there. Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly is one of the nude girls in The Beloved video. Eeeeww Rolf Harris. D:Ream's song is more famous for an election campaign in 1997.
Decent line-up of songs (1993 isn't the best year), but there are some gems. My favourite is the timeless classic 'Bed of Roses' by Bon Jovi. How was that 13th? Should have been number One. Beautiful rock ballad and one of my favourite songs. Obviously the reissue of 'Vienna' by Ultravox is a top favourite of mine ditto with Freddie Mercury's cover of 'The Great Pretender'. Madonna's ballad 'Bad Girl' is an underrated gem. I also like Shaggy, Annie Lennox, Poison (I have soft spot for 80s/90s hair metal), Lulu (The SNPs favourite song lol 😂), Carpenters, Take That, Lenny Kravitz, Metallica, T'Pau (ironic as February is Valentines month), Michael Jackson, M People, Rage Against The Machine, Faith No More, KD Lang (my auntie made a big deal of her being gay - not in a bad way), Boys 2 Men, Hot Chocolate, 2 Unlimited, Shanice, En Vogue and East 17.

@@some.random.baldie2111 Freddie I guess because of his recent death & early posthumous singles doing well. "Bohemian Rhapsody"/"These Are the Days of Our Lives" was #1 for weeks at the end of 1991/92 just after he passed. There was also the "Barcelona" re-release in the summer of 1992, to go with the Olympics, and another song at the end of 1992 which I've just seen when watching the Top of the Pops re-runs. There's another coming up in the summer of 1993, when he gets to #1 with a remix of "Living on My Own".

Gosh that is the worst Beatles cover from an artist I have ever heard. Never realised Tom Jones did a Beatles cover. Almost equally as bad as Rolf Harris' version of Stairway To Heaven. The less said about him, the better !!

You can blame Esther Rantzen for that, I believe it was a charity single championed by That’s Life!

Rod Stewart's cover of "Ruby Tuesday" was also an error in judgment. Lord, I bet Brian Jones was rolling in his grave, and I hope Mick slapped the s**t out of him.😮😮

@@robynm802 You would think so... But, regardless of the year, I have yet to see a Billboard chart that interests me. Too much country, rap and R&B for my tastes.
