Eh, the exhaust is largely explained by the fact the ships' "drive field," manipulates gravity. There's a strange mix of tech, from seemingly primitive to exotic, all united by a handful of tech that is outright space magic like the drive field and easy-pour anti-matter fuel.
Really love this freaking game,the science behind it is kinds accurate most habital world we will find once out in space will be Tundra, very very few will be tropical or similar to earth. We actually are a Totaly tropical planer that just happened to experience a ice age.
