This episode really leveled up! Kudos to the team making Joanne comfortable enough to share her stories. The overall mandarin capability increased a lot too. Feels like this series entered into its next phase through this episode.
Wow this episode is so refreshingly different. Joanne Peh speaks Mandarin in complete sentences unlike the hosts who always mix Mandarin with English/dialect (not that I dislike coz they are as lovable and funny).
its really amazing to see that Joanne Peh came over and seeing how down to earth she is and fitting in with the group! Kudos to the group for being themselves too to not be restrictive but just causally talk and discuss. I do agree we lack behind much in terms of other media content and production for shows, but i believe we are also above some countries in terms of our talents. We just need to groom these talents and also nurture new talents out to really do production of shows that can allow the world to know our culture of " Lah, Lei, Lor and even Eh!" haha
Ngl but I do feel you guys can really hire her as consultant for this channel 😂 her knowledge and point of view are super super valuable. Once again another excellent content 💯
What a lovely episode, if only it was longer! So interesting to hear Joanne sharing her experiences & opinions. I watched many local shows since young, SHERO is so thrilling (please give it a watch). I totally understand why she is not showing her children and her reasons are 100% valid! People should stop saying that not showing children = arrogant 😅 It’s also interesting to learn more about the media industry and how it works. It would be awesome content to invite more celebrities to share about their occupation, hardship and some burning questions. It would be great to learn about their personal story. Thank you all for the podcast & Joanne for your genuine sharing ❤️ I love these Chinese content, we’re definitely lacking some of these! Great work! 👍🏼
Such a nice episode! Lots of laughter & sincere replies! 😂🥹 Joanne Peh’s words really meaningful & logical, and gave new perspective to see things in life! 👍🏼 Love the “butt crack” joke 🤣 Wahaha! And also the “入背” of Charlene! 😆 All 3 male hosts are excellent also! Please keep it up! BRAVO!!! 👏🏻💯👍🏼
you will be awed by these actors/actresses speaking voices (trained) in real person... I heard before and was really impressed with their tones and voice projection
Heads-up if you plan to watch this alone in public just in case you scare the people around you with sudden bursts of laughter. Appreciate these type of videos also. Very candid and well edited video of local actress.
so interesting that you guys make comparisons to South Korea's industry, Joanne mentions the SK government plans to boost the industry by reinvesting in it- probs worth having a look at soft power diplomacy and how SK gov has a multi-year plan to export culture via music & arts and maybe that could be a potential model that is compatible with SG policies.
I love the comments here, so wholesome! On Facebook and TikTok, whenever a celebrity (or any good-looking/rich/successful/happy/well-spoken person) is mentioned, a lot of weird-looking or faceless people with idk stunted social skills or something start spewing irrationally vile things. Those kinda make me disappointed but this comment section is superrrrr!
Great content! Can consider getting Yahui to come over your show. She recently announced as a freelancer. In a recent podcast interview she had with Kunhua, they discussed about getting out of comfort zone. Maybe can consider to invite her to your show to have such discussion. It will be pretty meaningful and insightful.
Like her openess. Still remember when she talk about free water from the restaurant incident few year back. I am 100% on her side. Charging for normal water is a no no in any restaurant in Singapore.
Variety show(s) about script writing, like how to write dramas, movies etc. The show(s) can includes the process, struggles... would be great if it starred Joanne Peh.
In korea, it's true that the government invests a lot in entertainment. It's part of building cultural capital to attract tourism and improve the political image of the country. this actually started decades ago after the 1950 korean war and has only seen results in the past decade or so. this is how much time and work it takes to build a culture and mindset, starting from the government. Sg has not even started yet.
is it only me, or is there something wrong with the focus of the main camera which shows all 5 panelists? feels like only mayiduo is in focus and the other 4 are blurred out...
After watching this episode, I really hope I can bump into Joanne cause in my mind there some stories scripts and I want to write it but ....... hope she can give me some ideas
Thanks for sharing your experience to us Rachel! I can’t imagine anyone would treat another human being this way. He is really too much and he should be the one to face the wall to reflect!
I uds it's very expensive to shoot drama at different location of Singapore but I believe we can shoot those like bigbang theory and f.r.i.e.n.d.s which mostly shoot at set up studio. I agree we lack of creative script writers. Hopefully we can have our local "friends" show.
Most of k drama can fit Singapore culture and values? Sure anot? The Glory? Alchemy of Souls? Squid Games? My Name? Vincenzo? Bruh I think John only mention the romance family dramas only 😅😅
Maybe if more Korean script writers and directors come Singapore work for MediaCorp . Then Singapore dramas can be more globally recognised like Korea.
Once you open up investment from private , the entertainment will be for money laundering, drugs,..I don't think our Singapore government wants it. As a celebrity I think Joanne peh should be well aware how dirty and dark entertainment industries are.Sjngapore is very tamed compare to all other countries. Some more please don't kid ourselves sg talent r limited, our creators our artists are all shit..At least most of them😂
就是阿姐, so elequent, feels very sincere
Her pronunciation is very good.
Eloquent not elequent

I'm so impressed by joanne's bilingual ability eh. I'm watching this show to improve my chinese, so pls keep it up!
Wow this episode is so refreshingly different. Joanne Peh speaks Mandarin in complete sentences unlike the hosts who always mix Mandarin with English/dialect (not that I dislike coz they are as lovable and funny).
She speak abit like Taiwanese accent
Good job, she really brought all the positivity to us

Still so pretty and has a great personality

She's really down to earth and easy going
she is really very careful of what she is going to say.
I love this episode!! Eyes glued throughout.. joanne is really v eloquent ❤
Soild episode to have Joanne coming in and sharing her experiences. You guys are gonna grow big
Joanne speaks very good mandarin!
one of the best actresses in sg
She is so great, great communication skills.
Content sibei steady. Looking forward to more of such high-quality content!
another good episode, the quality getting better and better overtime!
Very insightful episode! Keep up the good work!
joanne peh is my fave mediacorp actress after all these years
Like her openess. Still remember when she talk about free water from the restaurant incident few year back. I am 100% on her side. Charging for normal water is a no no in any restaurant in Singapore.
Really solid episode🎉
Joanne is the best actress in Singapore❤
woah, joanne peh really maintain quite well ah. good job. haha
Love her character from little nyonya.
I LOVE JOANNEEE shes so real
Variety show(s) about script writing, like how to write dramas, movies etc. The show(s) can includes the process, struggles... would be great if it starred Joanne Peh.
Basically Peh is referring to an AV director for some drama... japan and taiwan has many such directors..
Anyway this show gives me a strong vibe of 972玉建煌崇
Very creative!
WAS REALLY THE BEST MAN. :')
great episode!
invite Jayner Teh 巧儿 come your channel to talk about how she join wang lei when covid time
omg joanne peh😍
Joanne
I love bai wei xiu fr. Watched her show since young till like 2013 or something
Enjoyed the interview. Not sure if intentional, but I feel it would be better if there are some broad timestamps.

beauty , eloquent , character & brain 👍
can see the way Kelvin response to certain statement, he is quite an MC.... thats why he said he like to direct...
why towards 20+ minutes the wide shot slowly going out of focus ah? Camera man go toilet ah
is it only me, or is there something wrong with the focus of the main camera which shows all 5 panelists? feels like only mayiduo is in focus and the other 4 are blurred out...
It’s also weird the host is right in the centre and she guest is at the side.
Why no English subtitles?????
cant wait for next one!!
After watching this episode, I really hope I can bump into Joanne cause in my mind there some stories scripts and I want to write it but ....... hope she can give me some ideas
Thanks for sharing your experience to us Rachel! I can’t imagine anyone would treat another human being this way. He is really too much and he should be the one to face the wall to reflect!
is it just me or the general shot of everyone looks very blur but when zoom in it is quite clear
Reminder to update your description~ It's still describing your previous episode~!

“Nowadays all only pretty face”
Last time NOC Talents also they ownself choose all the pretty face wad 💁♀️
Most of k drama can fit Singapore culture and values? Sure anot? The Glory? Alchemy of Souls? Squid Games? My Name? Vincenzo? Bruh I think John only mention the romance family dramas only 😅😅
this is quite funny, very singaporean
Please add english subtitles in your videos as its too hard to understand....!!!!
Maybe if more Korean script writers and directors come Singapore work for MediaCorp . Then Singapore dramas can be more globally recognised like Korea.
The center cam keep soft or off focus. Maybe whack higher stop safer
Nice watch
Is true

Aiyo i also like this 😅 creative to create story but cant write the story
福满人间 not on Netflix. Make me happy for awhile
Have not watch medicorp for 20 years already.
i wonder how much they need to pay Joanne Peh to attend this channel?
Most probably free. Just like magazine cover those celebrities shoot and feature for free. (I was in the magazine industry b4). It's for exposure.
@@Jack-hy2ki Does she even need exposure ?
@manyue2003 last time the magazine I worked in shot bigger and more well known celebrities than her and all free just for exposure.

Ryan like parrot others
Fu Man Ren Jian n Joanne Peh is not the same era pls.
I felt awkward listening to Joanne Peh’s China accent.
Ryan's enunciation of mandarin is quite bad
