    Welcome to the official TH-cam Channel of the Sushi Traveler!
    In these upcoming episodes of the Sushi Traveler, sushi connoisseur Mike Takla travels around the world one sushi bar at a time.
    Takla grew up in Southern California where these sushi bars served as the fancy go-to restaurants, hosting family dinners, birthdays and celebrations. In this new series, he will take his respect and appreciation for this Japanese delicacy to explore new locales, seeking out the people, places, customs and cultures behind this eclectic cuisine across the globe.
    While dining at these establishments in Southern California, Mike Takla most of all learned one thing: sit across a sushi chef with the right conversation, and as a result the whole experience will take a turn for the best. Sushi Traveler is Mike's search for the world's most interesting sushi, and the chefs who rise to the occasion.

    Uni (Sea Urchin) and Ikura (Salmon Eggs) are very delicious as long as they are prepared and kept in the correct cooling temperatures. Uni is best eaten as close to fresh as possible as you have seen in my previous videos. You also stay safe and once again, thank you for watching! 😃

    I know they've closed for COVID, but for next time, you're supposed to make sure all of your green and red plates are in BEFORE you press checkout. When you press checkout, it sends a note to them to print your ticket. You don't press it before you put them in, that will mess up their system. Also, if it has a black ring around it, it counts as 2 plates, and you remove the plates from the ring and leave the ring on the table. They'll pick those up. Hope this helps both you, and for you to be a pleasant diner.

    I don't think you should apologize for your description of the sushi, it's very good. I'm a cook but I'm no professional Chef. The Chef where I work is however and he uses these terms and descriptions. I think it's a good video and I'm jealous that you got to experience that. Cheers brother and thanks for the videos!

    You're supposed to take the plates out of the blue frame to insert them into the machine, which also helps calculate your bill...

    ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Life worth Spent ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
    It was highly worth it to eat at Kura Kaitenzushi, an outstanding flavorful, run and operated by a Japanese founder/owner.
    Otoro & wagyu won't see anywhere a typical sushi restaurant.
    I will go and eat again soon will be open near my location in Jersey City, NJ.

    Very Cool Mike. That's another thing to do on my "Bucket List". You did exactly what I would have done. Went to recommended and pressed one of everything more or less lol. Because i never heard of that Salmon and Tuna Yukhoe I would have gotten one of each just to see what it was like.
    I'm going to have to try Uni and Salmon roe again. My first experiences with them were not good in any way haha. Uni had a weird taste and texture to me(which i eat Raw Clams) so I think maybe i just order some "Not so Fresh / High Quality" uni at the time. The Salmon Roe was Soooo Salty to me i couldn't handle it. Now mind you this was back in the days when I first started eating sushi so over 20 years ago. I see so many people like yourself enjoying the hell out of them both I have to give it another try and Hope for the best. Another awesome video. Be Safe my brother, My buddy just told me the governor of Cali put you guys on a lockdown. God Bless and take care.

      Uni is an acquired taste and Ikura has to be marinated to bring out its rich flavors.

    Those with ring contain 2 plates meaning 2x the cost of a plate. You can remove the ring and then put 2 plates in the slot.

    • @sushitraveler
      @sushitraveler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes I'll mix the soy sauce and wasabi together and if it's real freshly grated wasabi then I'll just use it on the side.

      They used to be $2.25/Plate awhile back but now they are $2.95/Plate and that depends on what you get because some items cost more.
