    Update: On the computerized ASVAB, you can't skip or go back to questions. I didn't know this when I recorded. So instead, if you don't know then just guess and keep it moving

      Diondra Watson I don't really have a whole lot, take your time would be the best advice I could give, a lot of people just rush through it and they don't do very well, especially on the shapes portion, just take your time and think it through, hope that helps :)

    Here's a couple of huge tips that helped me out: Use online practice tests, and most importantly TAKE THE ASVAB AT MEPS. For me it was way easier in terms of the math questions, also, my MEPS gave us noise cancelling headphones and plenty of space to work, i took the ASVAB twice, once in high school and at MEPS. My score the first time was a 62 which barely disqualified me for the computer jobs that I wanted in the USAF (Cyber Surety/Cyber Systems Operations), after I took it at MEPS, my scores was raised to an 82. Also last tips: Practice, practice, practice, you wont get better if you don't review similar questions. Hope this advice helps.

    I would like to add that once you take the ASVAB and pick your job, that may not be the end of your troubles with the ASVAB once you actually get into the branch of service that you want. That score can follow you and hinder or advance your future endeavors.
    I made a video briefly explaining this.
    The point is, study very hard, and shoot for at least a 90!
    If I can get a 98, I know you can.

  • @rustylandry2544
    @rustylandry2544 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I don't think you have to do any pretest like you said. I took mine about 2 months ago and it was an easy process. I met with a recruiter and about 2 or 3 weeks later I was at meps taking the test and physical. the test was on a computer with a timer on the screen. kind of pressuring but I wouldn't worry because it's gives you plenty of time on each section. of you graduated high school with decent grades the asvab should be a breeze. I've got a few years of college and work experience so I blew through it and got a very good score

      Depends on which section you fail.. it wouldn't affect everything but it could hit some sections like if you fail the reading one or math one and you want to try out for something in the administrative or electrical job areas?

    do you know any websites for a good ASVAB practice test?

    • @rahshindra
      @rahshindra 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      www.asvabtestbank.com/
      Touch up on geometric formulas, and basic physics. In my opinion with the questions i had on the ASVAB, the only ones that were worth studying for were Gen Science, Arithmetic Reasoning, and Word Knowledge. With the rest, it seemed like either you know it or you don't. Also something really important, if you aren't super solid with multiplication and division, work on that. It's a life saver on the test.
      Good luck!
