    Do the blued movement screws appear to be heat-blued or painted/anodized?

    • @WristWatching
      @WristWatching  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It looks heat-blued, doesn’t have that plastic look of painted screws. This is just judging by how it looks though.

      @@WristWatching I heard back from Merkur today and they confirmed that the screws are heat-blued. That's acually pretty cool.

    I keep calling this a teal dial, but it looks way bluer in this video than it does in real life. Whatever the colour is - it's gorgeous!

      Good review! I love the looks of this watch. Question… in the event that the Chinese made movement would fail. Is there a main stream movement to replace it
      with?

    I felt i was sold on Rose and Red and Salmon, but this blue looks so stunning in your review, I’m now considering it instead. I wish there were more real world photos of the Green now.

    Beautiful watch, good review 👍. Merkur make nice watches (mine was Seizenn), but I won't buy another with that movement. I also found the crown hard to pull out, and the hands moved when pushing it in. After a few months the amplitude dropped and accuracy was way off, I couldn't fix it, so as I liked the watch, I installed a vh31 mechaquartz, it's a much better watch now.

    • @WristWatching
      @WristWatching  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! It’s always great to hear long term ownership experiences like yours. I didn’t know you could replace the movement with the VH31 - that’s fantastic! Was it a straight swap or did you have to do any mods to make it work?

    • @dunderhay9169
      @dunderhay9169 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@WristWatching I had to remove a spacer behind the dial, use dial dots to fix the movement and make a 0.9mm aluminiumn spacer to lower the dial in the case so the stem height was correct, the crown was the same thread so I swapped the stem. I then made a new movement spacer from aluminium on my lathe and a thin plastic disc to insulate the movement from the caseback.

      @@dunderhay9169 wasn’t as easy as I was expecting, but it’s good to know what I’d need to do if I decide to go down that route. 🤣 Thanks for sharing your process!

      What you don't like about the movement?

    • @dunderhay9169
      @dunderhay9169 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guanwaiheng1351 It was fine for about three months, but then became very inaccurate about +5 minutes a day with low amplitude ~170°. It wasn't magnetised, I tried cleaning the hairspring, drive train and re-oiling and got the amplitude up to 240°, but the best I could get was about +40 seconds a day dial up and -40 dial down at which point I decided it was probably a problem with the balance assembly. The watch han't been knocked or dropped.
