Mutarotation

Mutarotation is a phenomenon in which the specific rotation of the optically active molecule in a solution changes to certain value and remains constant. Mutarotaion in glucose shows change in specific rotation from + 112 degrees to 52 7 degrees from alpha anomer and change in specific rotation from + 19 degrees to 52.7 degrees for beta anomer.
