It's true that came out a bit of nowhere (if you didn't follow the announcements) and has a bit of humor but you can't deny how hype it was after seeing earth being so abused by the invaders for Bravern to appear in the nick of time and change the tide, truly cathartic

ehhhhh. i'm a stickler for technical distinctions, but the only thing keeping this from being a brave show is that it's produced by the wrong company. it's a lot of the same people that did the old ones and they're being as open about making a brave show as they possibly can (cleverly disguising it by putting 'brave' in the english title twice) so i'm pretty much counting it as one.

The majority of the decisions that happened in SRW30 were because of pressure from Bandai-Namco. Terada's last gamble was the DLC. He lost bad thats why he quit the SRW team. His story now is no different than Kojima and/or Inafune.
After watching this trailer: Oh sweet this is what want, a militaristic Mecha anime, I can tell this is going to be either war between Nations and fighting terrorist. Watching episode 1 half way: Oh cool so this is one of those alien invasion with Mech. After watching episode 1: WTF?!

I wasn't fooled despite how much the trailers tried to hide that it's a Super Robot anime(well duh ofc not with that anime title lol), and I was still hyped when Bravern appeared in the show.
My first thought is that Bravern is the cause of the alien invasion. I imagine he's some super advanced entity that somehow stumbled upon one of earth's broadcasts and ended up watching a ton of super sentai/mecha anime and decided to act as the robot on earth. I believe Bravern is the true threat to humanity and Isami was just some random japanese pilot that Bravern chose to fulfill it's own fantasy. Protecting humanity is merely an afterthought.
The latest episode kinda disprove this theory a bit though because Bravern was clearly angered when he heard the news of what happened to Japan. The more likely theory is that Bravern met Isami when the latter was far younger (which Bravern implied so). I like to think he was actually even one of the enemies at first as well but his meeting with Isami especially when exposed to all those Super Robot anime shows changed him for the best. As to how Isami forgot though, well he was a kid back then and maybe thought of it as a dream of sorts as he got older. Simple answer but yeah.

Just to clear things up for those that think Bravern is part of the Brave series. Bravern is *NOT* part of the Brave series as it's Japanese title doesn't start with Yuusha(Hero/Brave person). Bravern's Japanese title start with Yuuki(courage) not Yuusha meaning it's not part of the Brave series anime.

Just to clear things up for those that think Bravern is part of the Brave series. Bravern is *NOT* part of the Brave series as it's Japanese title doesn't start with Yuusha(Hero/Brave person). Bravern's Japanese title start with Yuuki(courage) not Yuusha meaning it's not part of the Brave series anime.
That means it's part of the Eldran series instead lol

The last Brave series was in 2000.
Technically there was a new one last year. But it’s a manga. Brave Universe Sworgrader. And before that was the web novel GaoGaiGar Vs. Betterman in 2017.
