You are both very intelligent professionals & still very young. Take extended breaks to prevent burnout. Feelings of accomplishments is always the biggest culprit that has been instilled deeply in all nationalities! We feel we must work at full speed & show our life’s results. One of my favorite TH-cam content creator is Gemma Wheeler architecture. She posts a video every now and then where she takes floor plans of small, unusual structures and re-imagines them into tiny homes. Her ideas are so creative as well as instructive. I think it would be fun to see abandoned places in Italy from town flats to abandoned cottages that you could feature and do a reimagining of the space and materials? I believe that one of your reimagined buildings might inspire someone to actually build it.

Thanks so much for sharing in this interesting video. I had no idea you were struggling, but know well how stressful it is doing a renovation project. We did ours remotely over 2 years travelling to Liguria from the UK at least once a monh first to find the rustico, then to decide on how to restore and extend, get the permissions and then the last year to build. This had its own pressures but we didn't have to do any actual building work ourselves while holding down jobs, and when we moved in we retired as well so that made things easier. I am so pleased you have found some things to help. You are lovely and talented couple and you should be very proud of the YT channel but mostly of your beautiful, ecological and sympathetic house. I look forward to seeing how things develop outside and if we ever win the lottery and can afford to do the same again in Italy you'll be the first people we call for advice ! Good luck.

I'm sure it will be great to not worry anymore about the bug/pest issues. I watch Martijn Doolard (sp?) on YT, who is in the Italian Alps, and he tends to get snakes in between the stones, as well as dormice and other critters. As Vince spoke to the rain issue, I would assume it also helps insulate (after pointing). 🙂

Loving the Q&A guys but WOW you both speak SPANISH! You both sound like its more of a Latinamerican twang to it. Really enjoyed the video, thank you for documenting your progress, we learnt a lot from you. One of our last projects it's the main house which is made of stone, two floors (with an adega in the bottom) Would be so cool for you guys to get involved and do this section with more natural materials. Unfortunately, we couldnt do it for the first tweo phases because at that time (probably still is) they were quite pricey but maybe later, we will be able to afford them more. Completely understand the burnout part, specially the added pressure of making youtube weekly videos that make sense and are interesting! So kuddos to you, you should be very proud! We are renovating an old stone building in France and have found this channel to be so refreshing, honest and insightful. Complimenti da un pensionato ex geometra con diploma da elettrotecnico :) Se sentite di essere stressati se permettete vi consiglio di staccare dal lavoro più frequentemente e divertitevi. Non mi piace il solare termico però ammiro l'idea di essere anche qui più possibilmente al naturale il fatto che avete trasformato la casa in ambiente fresco in estate senza meccanismi strani tipo il condizionatore è ammirevole sono curioso di vedere come ve la caverete in inverno. Per quanto riguarda i video speriamo che ci ripensiate facendone almeno uno a settimana inserendo magari i Vostri progetti in ristrutturazioni di altre case. Approfitto per dire no al nucleare si al fotovoltaico eolico si al risparmio energetico e si alle auto elettriche in quanto consumano meno energia.
Gusto, estilo, artesanía....creáis un bonito baile cuando trabajáis con las manos haciendo un baile sutil reflejo de vuestra sensibilidad...en definitiva, arte. Da gusto..enhorabuena !

Thanks so much for sharing in this interesting video. I had no idea you were struggling, but know well how stressful it is doing a renovation project. We did ours remotely over 2 years travelling to Liguria from the UK at least once a monh first to find the rustico, then to decide on how to restore and extend, get the permissions and then the last year to build. This had its own pressures but we didn't have to do any actual building work ourselves while holding down jobs, and when we moved in we retired as well so that made things easier.
I am so pleased you have found some things to help. You are lovely and talented couple and you should be very proud of the YT channel but mostly of your beautiful, ecological and sympathetic house.
I look forward to seeing how things develop outside and if we ever win the lottery and can afford to do the same again in Italy you'll be the first people we call for advice !

Good Morning from NC, USA. Thank you for the Q&A! I am excited to see the home after you have pointed the outside. It looks so good on the inside. I'm sure it will be great to not worry anymore about the bug/pest issues. I watch Martijn Doolard (sp?) on YT, who is in the Italian Alps, and he tends to get snakes in between the stones, as well as dormice and other critters. As Vince spoke to the rain issue, I would assume it also helps insulate (after pointing). 🙂

Loving the Q&A guys but WOW you both speak SPANISH! You both sound like its more of a Latinamerican twang to it. Really enjoyed the video, thank you for documenting your progress, we learnt a lot from you. One of our last projects it's the main house which is made of stone, two floors (with an adega in the bottom) Would be so cool for you guys to get involved and do this section with more natural materials. Unfortunately, we couldnt do it for the first tweo phases because at that time (probably still is) they were quite pricey but maybe later, we will be able to afford them more. Completely understand the burnout part, specially the added pressure of making youtube weekly videos that make sense and are interesting! So kuddos to you, you should be very proud! I look forward to your next chapter and really hope have celebrated this massive milestone! Take care!

We are renovating an old stone building in France and have found this channel to be so refreshing, honest and insightful. You have certainly shaped how we are building our home (we share a lot of the same products - hemp, lime etc). Complimenti da un pensionato ex geometra con diploma da elettrotecnico :) Se sentite di essere stressati se permettete vi consiglio di staccare dal lavoro più frequentemente e divertitevi. Non mi piace il solare termico però ammiro l'idea di essere anche qui più possibilmente al naturale il fatto che avete trasformato la casa in ambiente fresco in estate senza meccanismi strani tipo il condizionatore è ammirevole sono curioso di vedere come ve la caverete in inverno. Per quanto riguarda i video speriamo che ci ripensiate facendone almeno uno a settimana inserendo magari i Vostri progetti in ristrutturazioni di altre case. Approfitto per dire no al nucleare si al fotovoltaico eolico si al risparmio energetico e si alle auto elettriche in quanto consumano meno energia.
