Awesome video. Porkies are definitely on my list. Nice to know that the hikes don't have to be too long, and there are great campsites. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
I was on that trail 2 weeks ago (last few days of October) hiking from that BC River cabin towards Lake of the Clouds. Unfortunately the leaves were so thick on the ground I kept losing the trail between BC-7 and BC-6. I had to turn around and go back to Summit Peak parking lot on same route you took. Encountered a big black bear on hill climb just inland from that cabin you saw at Lake Superior.
@@rayschrab6509 Thanks for watching! Sounds like you had an awesome trip! And to catch a bear in the wild?! That’s amazing! Thanks, again! Happy trails!
@@tridudyonthetrail you have!! We did a hike in the spring together.. so much fun! ! Let’s keep in tough.. it’s awesome to hike with friends too! Cheers
Did my first serious backpacking trip in the porkies, I think about 1980 or so, I was about 9 years old. Did about 40 miles over a week. I don’t think there were any bridges or anything to make the trail easier back then.
You're not far from copper harbor there's a little town named Berglund it's right on lake gogebic which means Indian old Indian word for treacherous Waters then you could go up to the Olympic ski jumping Hill in copper harbor almost to the Wisconsin border

My two brothers and I stayed one night in 'Section 17' cabin. We did a 35 mile loop the last week of May 1996. Brings back memories. RIP my two bros.
Sounds like good memories… sorry for your losses, Indy Dog.
