  • 4 days, 3 nights in the Porkies with two really great friends. Exploring Lake of the Clouds, Summit Peak, Presque Isle as well as the Pinkerton Trail and Little Carp River Trail. Lots of laughs and fun in the Porcupine Mountain Wilderness State Park.

My two brothers and I stayed one night in 'Section 17' cabin. We did a 35 mile loop the last week of May 1996. Brings back memories. RIP my two bros.

You're not far from copper harbor there's a little town named Berglund it's right on lake gogebic which means Indian old Indian word for treacherous Waters then you could go up to the Olympic ski jumping Hill in copper harbor almost to the Wisconsin border

Did my first serious backpacking trip in the porkies, I think about 1980 or so, I was about 9 years old. Did about 40 miles over a week. I don’t think there were any bridges or anything to make the trail easier back then.
