Turns out marble is a lot softer then I thought it was. That explains a lot about the old sculptures that always looked impossible.
I mosaic with marble. Most marbles are definitely not ‘hard’ as you might expect.

HaHa nein natürlich nicht. Jedoch bereitet das Material Freude und lässt ungeahnt schön ausarbeiten ich möchte wieder :D
Ich bin gelernter Bildhauer, habe aber leider Steinmetz nie gelernt. Da der Lehrer krank wurde. 😔
Wäre es sinnvoll es zu versuchen/lernen? Oder existiert für Steinarbeiten ein zu geringer Markt. 🤔
Servusla, bin Steinmetz und versuche mich hin und wieder an Bildhauer arbeiten für Bekannte, also im kleinen Rahmen.
Der Markt ist relativ.
Wie ich finde, merkt man, dass der Großteil der Leute die Arbeit nicht sehen. Auf gut deutsch, man steckt über 30std und das ist noch harmlos in ein Projekt und wird dann mit: was bekommstn? 150€?... Verstehen sie, worauf ich hinaus will. Ohne "Name" schwierig.
