Melanie is a goldmine of knowledge with native plants and their uses. It was fascinating listening and watching her teach. I just wish there were more closeups on some of the plants she was discussing! Overall, thank you all for sharing this with us. I never realized there are so many plants around us you can use to stay alive. Great video!😊
It is 5 am here in Ontario Canada and , unable to sleep have spent this wonderful time with two amazing people teaching me the most interesting things I knew nothing about. Thank you Melanie and dear brother Peter Kelly.
This video is so informative and so very interesting! I knew that Melanie was an expert forager, but it’s AMAZING to me that she didn’t even have to eat her supply of pemmican during the 43 days of living in the woods! I learned many new things from this excellent video! Thank you and Melanie!😃👍
Great video. I've eaten some of the items shown. Burdock stems are like asparagus if picked early. And multiple mushrooms. I planted Jerusalem artichoke. And have a huge patch. But have yet to try the tubers. She's another treasure trove of information. Thank you
WOW ! And Peter takes us away to another great location. Sir, she was fantastic, it's so easy to tune in and watch your friends and you discuss the many different historical things that make up our past. Again, she was full of knowledge about the outdoors. Thanks Peter.
Thank You Peter for introducing us to Melanie Sawyer she's like "the Mother Nature of Foraging" great insight and her enthusiasm for Living History and Foraging is contagious I'm definitely checking out her website

Peter, Thanks for the Interview with Melanie Sawyer. I've learned something new on each and everyone of your video's. Keep up the amazing work and Be Safe!

I needed a good 'space of time' for this one and what-a-dilly it was! Just WONDERFUL information and the filming was just lovely Empress Catherine...I thank you both for this vid. I hope that this AMAZING Melanie takes a liking to your Fort project and plans a stay with her soon-to-be hub. WHAT a team they would be to your; 'Fort Kelly' refuge! The knowledge and the beautiful vivacious character of Melanie are quite the combo. I luved hearing how she is a 'Foody'...as one may think, (as I do) that all 'yummy stuff' has to take a back seat to this way of life. I do take occasion here to shame you a bit Peter, for not liking porridge (LOL)! Look what it's done for Melanie = YIKES! This was simply RICH! "It isn't how you die. It's what you live for." (Daniel Boone) Health and blessings dear ones! :) Happy Mother's Day dear Catherine! P.S. Hope you foraged for some flowers Peter! LOL!

Peter, when notification of this show came up I discounted it. But, this is a wonderful video I enjoyed it very much and will watch it again. Thank you
Great episode. Thanks! Lots of valuable foraging information there. My wife really wants to make some chaga tea now. We have lots of chaga around here. Flour from cambium looks like a really cool idea. My dog definitely knows about the food value of cambium as he's always making a great nuisance of himself by chewing on the birch firewood I'm trying to chop.
It is an absolutely wonderful place to explore. Awesome and interesting place for camping. There are so many hidden gems in this part of the world! Perfect footage video.. 👍👍
