I have high level hate for this computer and cab on these RT models. Why Grove cranes went away from the simple and easy to use PC’s in the older models such as an 05’ RT650E, I’ll never know. The electro over hydraulic controls suck. The fine metering is just as bad as a new Link Belt. The steering wheel tower is pointless. The 360 mechanic lock takes much effort to engage. The telescope pedal and swing brake are the same shape so you’re guaranteed to land your foot on the wrong one when looking out the top glass. These cabs also are similar to the Plinko game on price is right. Anything you lay up top WILL find it’s way to the floor. There’s no flat surfaces anywhere within easy reach to set a piece of fruit, a can of soda. The cup holder is 20” away when setting upright in the seat. It’s more narrow from left to right, and also there’s less head room. No room behind the seat for a persons lunch box, it’s gotta set outside if it rains. No where to hang a hard hat, I mean you can wedge it above the PC display, but it’ll find its way to the floor. All the wasted space in front of the steering tower. And the bull nose door, WTF, oh and the 2.0 bull nose door still sucks, needs another redesign. The top glass and wiper motor will get you wet if opened after some rain has fallen, the wiper blade channels it right in there due to poor placement. And all the damn glass keeps you cool in the heat, NOT!! Sorry to vent
i agree GOOD VIDEO!! i just started a job here in montana on the wind farm and they have a grt8090 im gonna be runnin tomorrow and i didnt know that grove changed all that….last time i was in a grove it was e-series…..thanks again for video!!
It changes how the lever engages. Like the straight line if you move the level 10% it gives you 10%. But the more curved ones may only give you 6% for the same movement. Just mess with it and get a feel for it.
While trying to put outriggers out I have a 4wd light flashing and it’s locking me out . I’ve tried shifting in and out of it and everything else I know to do any suggestions?
The flashing 4-wheel drive light is notifying you that the 4-wheel drive selection switch is in 2-wheel drive and 4wheel is required for outrigger function. It's a design feature to save the differential from damage. Be sure to press the brake when selecting 4wheel or 2wheel drive.
Its been a bit since I have ran one. But make sure the boom is fully retracted and still hold the scope in a few seconds longer and you should be able to select it.
@@hobanm45 boom is fully retracted and outriggers are out 100% and lmi set at 0001. It just doesn't give me the option for mode A. Only mode B and M are available. 🤔
So I spoke with a Grove vender and he ran the serial numbers. Turns out on the 2017 880E the mode A & X were eliminated even though the operations manual in came with shows mode A & X are there. Any preliminary operations manuals need to be updated with the current and final copy. 🤦♂️
JOKE: All of the engineers and designers finally got sober in AA. 😅
This video saved my ass. New grove and it’s confusing as shit at first. Thanks.
Glad it helped.

Matthew Cantu glad I could help. Groves new computer is very unintuitive so I made this to help some friends and decided to upload it.

What is the parameters of the different fucntions do? Like from a straight line to a curve line? Hope im asking that right

How do you override the two block if I’m booming all the way down to drive the machine with the block and ball hooked up to the machine
Over ride key is behind the seat or on the back of the cab.
@@justinwhisenhunt2661I’m surprised they didn’t put it on the outside of the boom 😂
Where is the battery kill switch located?
@@hilux22re it has been years since I ran a grove rt. I have no idea where the switch is sorry

May have to roll it a bit to help things line up

Have you ran into any scoping issues where you have to troubleshoot, do these new modes have less "groove issues"?

Does anyone know how to get it in mode A? I can't figure this damn thing out completely yet
