    I’m enjoying watching your video as I’m archery hunting for deer in a tree stand in Tennessee. Thank you for sharing.

      That’s awesome! Let me know how your hunt goes. Thanks for watching. I’ll have some winter trapping videos soon.

    Enjoyed your video very much. No moose where I live but we are getting into the whitetail rut in Manitoba. Seeing some new bucks around.

      Thanks for watching. We don’t have whitetail and that’s all I need to complete my North American deer slam. Good luck this year!

    A very interesting and so beautiful video. Hunting is fantastic and when you live in Alaska as you do it must be very special. Thank you for a super video - more of those please.

    Where in Alaska were you hunting? Those are great trails! Was it a guided hunt?

    • @myalaskalife907
      @myalaskalife907  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hunt and trap the south central area. I live here, so I don’t use a guide. Not all the trails are so good. There’s some really nasty swamps to contend with. I avoid them at every opportunity.

    I could feel those front cv joint boots ripping as you were Bush whacking through that heavy brush😬

    • @myalaskalife907
      @myalaskalife907  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as I don’t back up, I’m usually ok. My tow out was an electrical issue. I did tear my right front boot though $$.

      @@myalaskalife907 love my ranger 6x6 (2016). Its been super dependable and never left me stranded but i have to replace a front cv boot most every big trip and at least one axle a year just due to wear(never broke one).

    • @myalaskalife907
      @myalaskalife907  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha! I know your pain. I have 2. ‘14 & ‘16. There both work very hard, but they tend to require more maintenance/repairs than I’d expect. I’ve been watching these guys up here with the new Can-Am Defender 6x6. Seems they have some front shock and front differential bugs to work out. And the price!!!!

      @@myalaskalife907 thought about going that direction, but the Polaris is doing the job for me so I think I'll stick with it. I think aftermarket power steering and heavier springs fron and rear are on the list for this year. And install the snorkel kit I bought a few years ago.

    Hi! do you using saltrock in moose?

    • @myalaskalife907
      @myalaskalife907  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not allowed to use salt licks. Just calling and glassing.

  • @fryguy3359
    @fryguy3359 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I wish I had that 26 minutes of my life back. That was more like walking around grunting near moose than it was "hunting".

  • @dianekilbourne5734
    @dianekilbourne5734 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How close do you have to get to shoot that moose? I understand you can zoom in on the moose but it seemed like you walked right up on them and kept calling when they were right there. I know nothing about the regulations but darn you were close

    • @myalaskalife907
      @myalaskalife907  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was able to get really close. They tend to lose their senses during the rut. We have a size regulation and none of those bulls were large enough to harvest. Thanks for watching!

  • @kimjones6157
    @kimjones6157 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why chase them away?

    • @myalaskalife907

      Nothing ran away. There was no chasing involved whatsoever.

  • @tallcanadian

    So I haven’t finished watching. I’m 18 minutes into it but are you just tormenting the moose or actually hunting them?

    • @myalaskalife907
      @myalaskalife907  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were too small. I’m hunting an area that requires minimum 50” wide or 4 brow tines on one side.

  • @tylerbroussarf4839
    @tylerbroussarf4839 ปีที่แล้ว

    But why keep making that noise if the moose isn’t moving anymore and you’re well within range?

    • @myalaskalife907
      @myalaskalife907  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I was in range, but none of those bulls were legal for the area I was hunting. I worked hard to get to them, so I practiced my calling and had a lot of fun even without taking one.

    Very frustrating to watch you educate the animals and spread your scent everywhere. Just walk in a a sublegal grunting for no reason. Legal? Pursue. Sublegal? Move on or at least watch quietly. Geesh! 🤦‍♂️
