  • Join us on an awe-inspiring journey to the iconic Sunridge estate in the heart of Colorado, once owned by the legendary actor and environmentalist Dennis Weaver. 🌄✨
    In this remarkable video, myself and a dedicated team of environmentalists come together to visit this historic estate, with a mission that goes beyond admiration. 🌿💚
    Our team worked tirelessly alongside investors to raise an impressive 1.4 million dollars in donations, all for the purpose of purchasing this magnificent property. But our goal wasn't just ownership; it was to transform Sunridge into a public trust, destined to become a hub for sustainable living education. 🏡🌱
    During our visit, we had the extraordinary privilege of sitting down with Gerry Weaver, Dennis Weaver's wife, and two of his children. We also met a renowned lawyer and realtor, all united by a common vision of environmentalism and sustainable building. 🌎💫
    This is a story of preserving a legacy, continuing the mission of environmental stewardship, and ensuring that the principles Dennis Weaver held dear live on for generations to come. 🌟🌿 #PreservingLegacy #SustainableLiving #DennisWeaversLegacy

    I remember when Denis Weaver first talked about building with tires and rammed earth on TV back in the 1970's! It took a long time for people to catch on!

    DENNIS WEAVER WAS A GOOD ACTOR, I STILL WATCH HIM ON GUNSMOKE, WITH DOC, MISS KITTY, SAM THE BAR KEEP, AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, MR DILLIN, JAMES ARNESS, THOSE WERE THE GOOD OL DAYS, 1950'S AND 1960'S, THAT SHOW WAS GREAT AND SO WAS THE CAST, R.I.P. DOC, CHESTER, MISS KITTY, AND MR DILLIN, AND SAM THE BAR KEEP. 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

      It's Dillon, not Dillin. The saloon owner/madame was Kitty Russell.

      texasblacksmith10 Thanks Ron! I wish I could have met him, but I was fortunate enough to meet his wife and two of his sons. They are such a nice family! After going to the house I learned a lot more about Dennis and respect him even more now. He truly was a champion of the earth and humanity. Are you near Ridgeway?

      David Morrison I live in a small town in north east Texas called Wolfe city, I had a blacksmith shop in Ridgeway that I ran during tourist season, but am retired now, I still come to visit John Billings and a few of the other locals when I get a chance.

    Loved the house but had to keep pausing the video as I was getting seasick with all the fast movement. I bet Dennis Weaver loved living there.

      I couldn't honestly care less what Dennis might have thought about my music selection. I'm not the president of his fan club, I just toured his house.

    Ok I think the house is gorgeous. I think. I allowed it to half does and still got dizzy! Could you possibly do another one and slow down? And instead of music talk about the house or Dennis Weaver?

    • @VagabondMorrison
      @VagabondMorrison  ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course, I'll get right on that! I'll dig up this 7 year old footage and completely edit a new video for you and then write and record commentary for it and then delete this video with 29k views and start over with zero. No problem! Better yet, maybe I could head back to Colorado and film something brand new? I'll even should you out in the new video!

    Great video. Beautiful home. I love gunsmoke with Dennis. I still watched the show. Does anyone lives in the home or is it up for sale? Thanks

    • @VagabondMorrison
      @VagabondMorrison  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Wannella Lawson Geri Weaver was still living there after Dennis passed for a few years, then it was up for sale and has now been purchased by a non-profit and it will become a sustainable living education center.

    This place looks amazing! Did Michael Reynolds and his crew from Earthship Biotecture help to design and build this place? Is there a Floorplan or a model named for this design? "Sunridge'? Is it 3 levels? Looks like some sort of a sub-level below the main level? I am so impressed and amazed by these concepts -- truly visionary. Keep it going Mr. Reynolds!!!

    I interviewed Dennis Weaver for NBC way back about his earthship days and how much he
    loved it. Next time you shoot a video bud....slow down so we can see what everything
    looks like....and loose the Crow music....Ravi Shankar would have been a better choice.

    Great video but music was a turnoff!

    • @VagabondMorrison
      @VagabondMorrison  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Music is very subjective. You'll notice there is no audio from the video itself, so music was a must.

      A more mass appeal track will get more views!

      This is a wildly popular band right now.

    • @cpamfmdj
      @cpamfmdj 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not for me. I would have rather heard a Country song. Fits better with Dennis Weaver, Colorado and The Earthship. Plus much more mass appeal. I knew Dennis and his wife and they loved Country music. In fact i taught them the Tush Push on that deck in front of the house.

      Well, we don't all get what we want do we? :P While I'm glad lots of people have found this video, I did not make it for anyone but myself to document my time spent there while the group I worked for was purchasing the home. I like the song, it's my home video, and I don't listen to country. So it is what it is. Sorry you didn't like the song, but I didn't have you in min specifically when I made the video. Feel free to come by and check out the house anytime though. After purchasing the home we put it in a public trust and made it a sustainable living education center.
