I also like the nice touch that the sweeter, more empathetic members of the cast are the ones who ultimately support Damon’s more emotional plea like Ingrid, Jean, Eloise, and Desmond. It shows that Damon is not completely alone in his hunch that Diana is too kind to do something so horrible to Wolfgang.
Wasn't Eva nice to Damon entire time? That's why he felt so betrayed when she said they never saw eye to eye. This argument is nonsensical and I believe other chapters will prove it further. Anyone can kill when they feel their lives are in danger. But I suppose Damon has never cared about anything says, does he? He's a debater, his job is doing anything to prove a point. You can actually see it near the end. He subtly emotionally manipulates the group to go over to his side when he makes this indepth talk about how much has Wolfgang affected him and how much he mattered to him. But did he? We don't even see Damon's inner monologue about that. Prior that there weren't even signs of Damon admiring Wolfgang. In Akire's FTEs we are shown that Damon is impressed and respects Wolfgang's skill, but Damon still remains extremely doubtful about Wolfgang's personal convictions. Actually, same thing happened in Prologue Pathos route. Damon tells everyone to trust Wolfgang's lawyer intuition, but in FTEs we see Damon doubt Wolfgang's intuition. What's up with that? Unreliable narrator?
@@stooroosk Lol you took it in the wrong way, this logos and pathos route can be considered as you trying to decide whether to follow your heart or your mind. The characters in P:EG are very unique since they don't follow the troupe of someone being all the way nonchalant about someone feelings. Damon is one of the examples. We know that he is a very hateful character towards others, but when it comes to Eva and Diana the only two characters who he had trusted you can definitely see Damon reacted differently. This meant that Damon's judgment was pretty much still driven by feelings. It's not because the game narrating isn't concise, but I believe this rather shows Damon's humanity, that he can pretty much be bluffed in his own emotion. In his pov of Wolfgang however, since he doesn't have any close relationship with him, he will still be aware in terms of Wolfgang's intuition. But that doesn't mean he will disregard Wolfgang's intuition thoroughly, he still has respect towards it since he knows very well Wolfgang's ultimate talent. So yeah, like people in real life, these characters can still have indecisive judgments. One second you doubt someone, and the next second you switch up, that is perfectly normal. Anyway discussing on FTEs, I don't know much about how they impact in this game, but in other danganronpa games, some of them are just entirely for showing the characters' relationship with MC and usually they take the timeline of the first chapter of the game. The later chapters usually won't be taken into consideration of the FTEs, so that is why inconsistency may be found at some point
Honestly with how talkative Monokuma was during trials i was surprised with how quiet Tozu was during the trial, it's nice to see him participating in this route by answering Damon's question.
I actually unlocked the pathos route in my gameplay because I had no idea Grace's claim was actually wrong and simply remembered you can take the words of others
No way, when I watched the playthrough from the official I was literally ignoring all purple text and have a feeling grace's statement will be wrong since she is too driven with her emotions! I will definitely hit the logos route with that one if I played the game
THIS IS SO GOOD OH MY GOD!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING IT!!!!!!!! I love Damon in this one, Diana really deserved better and to know she got it at least in here makes me very happy... She's legit becoming my favorite character OMG....
i have such a softspot for diamon, doesnt help that their ship trope is exactly my kind of tea. my friend who shipped them way before the prologue is probably feeling on top of the world rn with the amount of shipping content for them
The pathos routes are pretty neat! They take the idea that was never fully fleshed out from 2 & integrated it with the purjury routes from 3 Very glad they only have pathos WHEN there's a pathos route available, acts as a clue to the player that they could go either way with the debate!
I would like to thank you for making these videos for people who can’t download the game like me but still want to know about the trials and characters❤
Is it too late for me to ship them? Call me crazy but both routes had Damon changing his mind when he saw Diana’s reaction and recognized his accusation was not correct. The pathos version shows him being touched by her kindness, while the logos route still has Damon do similar. But he isn’t as vocal and goes by a ‘nagging’ feeling in his chest when he recognizes his error.
@@etam8099 i mean I think it’s too soon to write off him being ‘pissed off’ as hate or dislike. But I can see why it may cause tension in future interactions. If there’s anything to go by, I sorta took it as Damon getting confused as to *why* Diana remains resolute to help others, despite all she had been through. I think in Damon’s perspective, this response is jarring and/or confusing to him. Since he and Eva each had different responses to being ostracized. But why Diana’s spirit didn’t break and why she wants to help others may appear to be naive as well as illogical. His anger felt more like confusion and bewilderness. But I suppose it’s still hard to conclude to anything. Guess we’ll have to see what happens next, in a year or so when chapter 2 is ready.
So in DRV3 there's a moment which Shuichi must be lying to bring the debate to right path, but here in PEG it's an optional route? Still great route tho, cause we got Damon's character development. I hope the next chapter have these Pathos route is not optional tho since it's great to humanised Damon lmao
@nonUomoFoglia yeah I know that, but there would be always one moment Shuichi must lie, so the lying is always tied to the game (also the theme of DVR3 is truth Vs Lie too)
Alright, now this solidified my headcanon that Diana will be Damon's love interest. Now I KNOW THAT'S DUMB AND DANGEROUS, BUT PLEASE HEAR ME OUT! Ever since we proved her innocence, I felt like Diana is very similar to Kaede but she survived Chapter 1. Both preaches how they won't let this killing game take them down and both do as they preach. Both of them kept their hopes pretty high, leading to a Classmate's death. Kaede thought the mastermind would be in the library, which she is right- but she was wrong about Rantaro being there also. Diana hoped that Wolfgang is the one who wrote him the letter, but she just ended up witnessing his death. So yeah, I think Diana is pretty much like Kaede. And we'll see how she's going to lead the group in the following chapters. (Here I am hoping they won't kill her off instantly in Chapter 2 😭😭😭)
Pathos seems like a path of least resistance from a gameplay standpoint. You're basically trading direct opposition through minigames for emotional character focused cutscenes. If you put diana's explanation here, pathos is 20+ minutes of nonstop cutscene.
you can access the logic route by using the TOZU TABLET truth bullet on “she killed him immediately” which leads to a rebuttal showdown with Grace. It converges to Diana’s line with the art.
I kinda find it funny that Eva (Who I think is supposed to be the Kyoko of the game) was the one that gets executed first And its slowly hinting that Diana might be a potential love interest (since she is kinda like the Sayaka of the game) Or not and she dies and its Kai lol
Damon is such a hypocrite during Pathos and here's why. We know Wolfgang got emotional in the pre-trial, and Damon is both impressed and nonsensical about it. But you see in this run, Damon using Pathos has Damon perching his feelings because it's something that wouldn't help in trial. I think going down a Pathos route is more of a 'following in Wolfgang's steps' in a trial than just going into logic. In Logic, Damon is a brute, but still gets things done. He earned his title pretty firmly as the debater, but sometimes emotions can change trials. Better or worse.
I mean, this whole chapter (or, more specifically, the trial) ends up being a reflection of Damon's hypocrisy on his "don't trust anyone" thinking (though it can also be applied to other characters and their actions) Both in the sense that he's been the one saying that people shouldn't trust one another, because that trust could be exploited by a killer - and then he placed his trust on Eva, who ended up killing Wolfgang and trying to frame Diana (two of the people Damon's also been in most opposition with) And in the trial, because in both paths he can only prove that Diana is not the blackened by trusting that she did not kill Wolfgang (though the Pathos route is more openly emotional, his "nagging feeling" is also a part of the other one), a thing he also criticizes Wolfgang for in his FTE's (defending clients he trusts are innocent)
@@Onryo_NoFire the main route is using a truth bullet to shut down Kai’s claim that diana immediately killed wolf because of the time of his death. Damon recognizes that his initial accusation towards diana is wrong and has the proof to otherwise disprove the evidence that pointed against her. Instead of appealing to what he knows of Diana’s kindness, Damon instead has a ‘nagging’ feeling in response to seeing her cry. So either way her emotions still got to Damon. In the logic route the player gets a rebuttal showdown with grace as well.

I really love this path system. It makes sense for the ultimate debater to have multiple arguments to choose from
The real reason to go for this route is to unlock THIS CUTE NEVER-SEEN-BEFORE DAMON SPRITE 4:51 YEAHHH!!!

I like the whole Pathos thing especially when it introduces more sides to the characters and makes them more trusting
