It's Mind-blowing! SpaceX and FAA to Modify Starship Launch in Florida HUMILIATED NASA!
If you're still wondering whether SpaceX will launch the massive Starship rocket from Florida, the answer is undoubtedly yes, and even that launch date may be closer than ever.
This story is not without merit, as evidenced by the latest action from the Federal Aviation Administration.
Let's find out on today's episode of Alpha Tech: What FAA just did with SpaceX Starship in Florida shocked NASA teams?
When can we see Starship launch in Florida?
It's Mind-blowing! SpaceX and FAA to Modify Starship Launch in Florida HUMILIATED NASA!
SpaceX’s plans to build a Starship launch complex at Kennedy Space Center are moving closer to reality even as it potentially takes over a launch site from neighboring Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Recently, on May 10, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that they are beginning an Environmental Impact Statement for Starship launches from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Complex 39A. This marks a significant initial step in SpaceX's efforts to launch Starship from Florida, and the FAA's response suggests that this process may be resolved swiftly, unlike past launch approval delays.
It's Mind-blowing! SpaceX and FAA to Modify Starship Launch in Florida HUMILIATED NASA!
Currently, at LC 39A, SpaceX has constructed the head of the Starship launch tower adjacent to the existing launch pad used for Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launches.
Significant work on this new launch tower ceased at the end of 2022 as SpaceX shifted focus to developing the Starship and Super Heavy rockets from their test launch site in Texas, where they conducted three flights with varying degrees of success.

In spite of all our ignorant comments, SpaceX knows what they are doing and will steadily make progress.
Agreed. Even if it doesn't work the first time, Spacex will steadily modify it, until it does...
Cape Canaveral is 28.3922° N latitude, Boca Chica is 25.9972° N latitude. The bigger number is farther from the equator, spinning more slowly.
Environmental Impact Study means “somebody” want’s they’re cut. Because money and massive fines is what saves/protects the environment right?
I think that a Flame trench version will be put up at 39 a for Starship . Like the new Trench at Masseys test site.
That’s good idea!
Say no to flame trench. The water shower head still needs future proofing. Also less materials needed to build it, maintenance.
Some of the requirements for SpaceX to launch in TX are downright stupid and nonsensical.
If NASA wants to beat China back to the moon and then to Mars they better start bending backwards for SpaceX because the rest of the pretenders (led by Boeing) just don’t have the gravitas, expertise or the technological firepower to get it done.
There are seldom more than 2 SpaceX launches in a week here in Central Florida. Multi-launches per day are now likelier.
Biden's heavy hand against Tesla.
Both sides make no sense, democrats like you say disrespect Tesla while republicans hate electric vehicles all together. I don’t understand either side other than both must have financial motives. Politicians are the worst of us , and who among us would trust them with our personal financial needs but here we are doing it because we are tribal.
It’s about oil lobbies!
In accordance with the policies of weaponizing government against political opponents…. Keep up the good work Obiden!
Once Space X optimizes starship other nations will copycat it , the US national Security System will lock up and stifle open research and screw everything up and the others will advance . Wouldn’t the most efficient launch sites be near equator from high altitude locations perhaps Ecuador or Indonesia ?
other nations and companies have yet to copy Falcon 9 so its gonna be a minute till they come close to starship and superheavy. They only launch from Coasts on the east so the rocket is always over water for hopefully obvious safety reasons. East coast and not west coast because that is the direction of rotation of the earth so Ecuador is out, Brazil would make more sense. Indonesia would be an ok spot but infrastructure near the launch site is also a consideration since the launch sites require lots of energy and and heavy materials that need good roads to be delivered also lots and lots of concrete. There is also the Security considerations Rockets Are Considered ICBM's and therefore are treated as military weapons so any country would need to be an ally of The US and likely part of many other Treaties and organizations before they would even be considered to be allowed to be an external luanch site to a US company.
China has plans and a pathway to reproduce both Falcon 9 and the Starship and heavy booster. They know a good thing when they see it, or them in this case.
Not sure why there's any discussion over the removal of the legs. The legs were removed because they need to reinforce the ground around them or they will fail as seen in the first test launch. Their designs of the launch pedastal are much evolved and what was constructed was proven to be inadequate in the first test.
How could there be any wonder that they scraped legs they know failed (extensively modified and worked around).
They need to prep the ground with pilings, much deeper concrete, water deluge system, maybe a flame trench if feasible (the water table might have prevented this at the Texas site.
So, its not a zebra, its a horse until Spacex says otherwise.
These old launch mount legs had the wrong angle/slope to reach up to the increased height of the launch mount ring. (Because booster legs were eliminated and the engine skirt shortened.) The Boca Chica prototype column/legs have vertical extensions to solve the problem.
It is better to modify the next design with all the hindsight that has now accumulated. For example, The leg slope and length can be optimized. The new legs can now have a wedge shaped cross-section to match the evolved prototype, made of stainless steel. The thick reinforced concrete base with better pilings can be installed first, along with the Showerhead/Bidet plate and supply pipes.
Texas special interest groups have relegated Starbase to a manufacturing facility. Not the first time this has happened. Personally I think the involvement of the defense department has moved the development of the operational program to Florida. ULA has taken too long to develop and deploy their next generation heavy launch vehicles. They're still in the race but are failing to keep pace with the front runner. NASA has also fallen behind. The Gateway to Mars will still be there but few launches will take place compared to Florida and eventually Indonesia. The timeframe I expect will be determined in large part by the defense department's deep pockets. So I will say 2026 isn't too unlikely for us to see full scale operations in Florida.
Indonesia? Nicely placed near the equator, but the logistics trail is pretty long - half way around the world. When operations spike Indosia makes sense but I suspect it will be a few years before site development even starts
@@richardrigling4906 Exactly yet they have already offered territory and Elon is there this weekend bringing Starlink there.
Kennedy Space Center: 28.5744° N
Boca Chica Texas: 25.9972° N
Boca Chica is farther south than Cape Canaveral. Equivalent in Florida would be Aventura between Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
The original version of Star-ship was 18 m in diameter. Such a ship, possibly twice as high, should be used to supply fuel would greatly improve cadence and be useful for construction.
They have to make a space rocket factory in space so there won't b a launch problem.
There will always be a launch problem. Leaving Earth's orbit is relatively easy, but to be in Low Earth Orbit, an object has to be moving at 17,500 miles per hour. The towering boosters we use are necessary just to get payloads up to that speed. Even if we assemble very large spacecraft in orbit, we still have to get the materials up there.
@racookster Wasn't a sea launch planned?. Launching from international regions doesn't need any approval.
Only way I see that working is if the Moon gets mined so as to reduce transport cost to Starship Lunar Orbit Shipyard.
Very comprehensive report . Awesome job!!👍
Thank you so much!
SpaceX 👍✔💯🎉 and NASA ✔👍🚀🚀🚀🚀
This barefoot Texan lamentfuly admits that the Florida site for launching is the primary choice. However Hurricanes do happen more often there than in Texas. The redundancy is a nice thing to have especially if the military decides it wants to employ the Big Ship. Engineer training might also be a consideration for a separate campus. Nasa really needs to Joint venture with SpaceX in developing off shore launch/land/refurbish platforms.
"ELON TIME"
I think SX will start in Florida only after they landed a star ship. To transport a star ship on land or by bartch would be too expensive.
As with all launches and what ever system is used to launch a rocket and deal with the exhaust plasma being generated by it. If the charged nature of mater isn't then taken into consideration, then a major force is operating unseen and uncomprehend.
But when we consider the fact that the force of electromagnetism is 10^39, or a 1000 billion billion billion billion times more powerful than Newtonian gravity. Or even how Einstein fantasised it to work, the bending of the Electromagnetic Spectrum in the presence of mater on a flat bit of of rubber-like cloth, then the EM force is a force you ignore at your peril.
Another 9 months for approval!😂
Yeah!
thanks Alpha Tech!
Excellent stuff bro
Thank you so much!
I live in Merritt Island, Florida 7 mi. From the launch pad they are not going to be able to land the starship because of the Sonic boom. You don't understand. It's so loud even when you know it's coming. It still startles you. They're going to have to use the drone ship
They land Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy boosters at LZ-1 and LZ-2 now and theres a sonic boom
We need a phone app for this.
We need a smartphone app for this. Boom alert. Or else the SH booster has to come back in like a skydiver, Starship style.
Does anyone think that Boeing may have had something to do with this!?!?
Let's hope not...
@@eharris3021 They have a lot of reach, and are really being shown up by Space X.
two whisleblowers had unplanned disassemblies. would not surprise me if boeing was involved.
I know that everyone wants to keep politics out of space but I do wonder sometimes if SpaceX is being slowed down by NASA to allow others to catch up. More companies bidding means lower prices per job. Please tell me I’m wrong.
Elon is outside of the bureaucracy, not part of the revolving door between government and corporations run by retired generals and politicians
Space X is being slowed down because Boeing, ULA, etc have bought out half of Congress, and because Musk has been critical of the current President. Same reason Tesla keeps getting snubbed from all the EV conferences the government holds. It's beyond obvious.
Cute how they pretend like public opinion on projects is relevant.
Blue origin is done cost overruns problems they embarrassed nassa apologize to mush he embarrassed sll other's
They're hiring in Kent
Blue Origin was done the moment they started accepting government handouts to build their program
LC39 tower has to be modified. It has to taller to handle SS V2 and SS V3. Alternative is lower the launch mount and incorporate the flame trench. The second option avoids a lot of heavy crane work and makes for potentially better shock and noise suppression since the 3xhaust is diverted below ground level. High water table at Boca Chica launch area precluded flame trench there.

there is many places across the world including UK

Why are your titles always having “humiliation “ and all that negative crap. I won’t watch your posts because of it. Negativity is the wrong way to Publicise your stuff.
Thank you for your reminder! I will fix this
Having experienced the final Saturn V launch in 1973, and the significant physical impact upon the launch site and spectators created by the 7.5 million lbs. of thrust produced by the Saturn, I can imagine that the Super Heavy with its 17+ million lbs. of thrust would shatter every window from Titusville to Cocoa Beach. Granted, the Saturn's 5 F-1 engines produced 1.5 million lbs. of thrust apiece, while the 33-35 motors on the SH only produce about a third of that for each motor, so maybe that may help to mitigate the damage. Would a voltage vs. current analogy be appropriate in this case?
I'm sure all of this must have been considered in the planning stages, but the fact that SpaceX so woefully underestimated the damage wreaked on the pad and its environs at Boca Chich during the 1st test launch (I was shocked that they blew that so badly IMHO), it makes me wonder if Starship/SH will work in Fla. On the other hand, I haven't heard any reports on what impact, if any, the 3 test launches to date have had on the residents of Boca Chica.
hard landing...hope they r okay
Yeah!
Get rid of the computer generated voice.
SpaceX is going to build a brand new launch site in Florida that is capable of launching horizontal style spaceships instead of vertical rocket ships
Destroying beautiful Florida, I am not happy about that at all. The nerve, I hope all of that, never happens.
@@rawveganterra all of that property was already destroyed when they built the Kennedy Space Center. Must is just repurposing it for something else
