Thank you much for the interview, Dariush! And for the fantastic questions from viewers. (One correction: Baghari is Piguet, not Lanvin.) I also realize I missed an opportunity to promote the very beautiful Mxxx. and the lab in France it came from in response to your question about the brands that are future-forward.
I think ERIS's affiliation with that lab, through Antoine Lie, is a perfect example of the future of perfumery: it's the marriage of old-school artisanal perfumery with modern technology. Atelier Français des Matières in Annecy, France tinctured specially-selected Ambergris for Mxxx., using an ultrasound extraction method that preserves its special facets and does not overheat it. Similarly, "green" extraction methods were used for Trinidad Cacao and Madagascan Vanilla in Mxxx. that helped keep its full spectrum of aromatic molecules.
So I think one way of viewing the future of perfumery is its return to excellence of materials and an interest in "green" sustainable extraction methods. Along with new ingredients, concepts, and ways of delivering scent, there are many ways to think about what future-forward perfumery is. A thought-provoking question! - Barbara

@Persolaise - what was Barbara's 2nd perfume reference for Green Spell? Aliage is the first, I'm just not that well-versed in vintages (or French) to decipher the second one 😔🙂 I have a sample on the way following my recent infatuation with Corsica Furiosa.

Very sorry - I can’t find the part of the video where she mentions it.

@Persolaise...I should've posted the time mark, apologies. It was right @ 21:00 . Sounds like Vent Vert after another listen - my "common-sense" is saying Balmain's? I just scored a sample of Mal-Aimé by PdE as well... refreshing in that Miracle Homme L'Aquatonic way ... but as if Francis Kurkdjian released it with MFK as opposed to Lancome... green is coming around! Thank you for the great vids!

Ah, thank you. Yes, it’s Balmain Vent Vert. Thanks again for watching.

Wonderfully compelling interview. Such a treat to hear Ms. Herman's personal, passionate thoughts about fragrance, both vintage and contemporary - I've got to find her book. I wear Ma Bête, which I love, and now I must try Night Flower. Thanks to both of you brilliant people for sharing this.

Great interview. I just love two nerds picking at each other heads.
Edit. Costus is IFRA banned? I believe Papillon Artisan was using it in Dryad

Haha, gunmetal24, we are definite perfume nerds, proudly so! Re: costus, It is banned. Synthetic costus is available; it's in Ma Bête. I want the absolute. It's divine!

Enjoyed this interview immensely. Ms Herman’s insights & intelligence & passion are/were very impressive. Had never heard of her brand Eros, will search it out (especially Night Flight). My first time capturing your video live (now if I could just figure out to comment on live stream). Much thanks Monsieur Persolaise highly enjoyable!

Green turning into white sounds enticing! This is a very interesting interview. Thank you for providing the opportunity to not only listen to personalities of the world of perfume like Barbara Herman but even to ask them questions. Somebody asked in the comments about places where vintage perfume can be found: there is a place in Hamburg which specializes in difficult to find and discontinued fragrances. Their name is " Duftwelt Hamburg" . My personal experience with them has been very good and I think it is worth checking their website ever now and again. (I hope it is ok that I recommend them here, no personal involvement on my part of course). I am looking forward to the interview this afternoon!
