Bob seemed reeeeeeealy high on something, but it was very interesting to see how he snapped into focus with Dave's question about being isolated. They both connected with that question and instantly got past the awkwardness into an honest conversation. Dave was/is a master of his craft, make no mistake. That was a hell of a question he asked, I wish they had stayed on that topic more.
Dave was still so new and awkward at this early stage in the show when he was interviewing his guests. I would have loved to have seen him interview these two about three years later, when he had his confidence and biting humor in full effect. He would have had a field day with them at their expense, particularly Weir. HA!
