My lil sis amy im so proud of you to watch you grow from a teenager to a woman student to teacher youth club atendee to youth club worker you are inspirational and im happy you fell back in love with skating i remember our talks when you said it wasnt as good as b4 and recently you told me how much you loved it again that brought a smile to my face.
Love this! Part of the reason I’m looking forward to relearning to skate has to do with that feeling of freedom! I miss that. Been too long! Thanks for sharing!
We're finding that many skaters have signature moves which are either adaptations of existing moves or completely new moves that they have created! We have started to ask them more about their Signature moves so you’ll be hearing a lot more about these in future episodes...
Great video! I wish we had classes/teachers where I live. Thank you for sharing your skate set up too, I'm interested in the different types. ☮ from 🇨🇦 Edit: The closest rink to me is 2 hours away so I've been learning only street skating since I started a few months ago.
Glad you liked the video. Most new skaters have not had the experience of rink skating as they have been closed for most of this time and as you say depending on your location they might be pretty far. But there are some great outdoor spots and if you can find a smoothish surface you're good to go! Hope you’re enjoying your journey into skating. The scene here in the UK is really picking up. Have you noticed an increase of skaters over there?
@@stepandroll Yes, it's increased here too, but not a lot in my town. When I go out street skating, I get a lot of people saying they haven't seen 2x2 skates since the 90s! I'm enjoying the journey and am looking at upgrading my plates from the composite nylon ones that came with my skates. I'm learning so much about the mechanics of the equipment and how it affects movement, which motivates me a lot. I can only hope to be half as good as you and your fellow skaters!😁
She's sick and love that she was inspired by Sk8 Lisa, I used yo see Sk8 Lisa at roller disco all the time and think she was sick. A London skating legend.

Notice how all the skaters are in good shape, their constantly using the core muscles which works the whole body. Love it.

I wonder if any of these people have discovered/made up new/unique skating movements; that's what I want to see from long-time skaters.
