You guys need to invest in a dedicated circular saw with a clain saw attachment like they use in timber framing, so you can cut your beams and larger lumber easier.
The type of brands you choose to work with nowadays is really starting to chip away at the respect I had for you all. (Edit: Looks like most of the original comments about the sponsor are getting deleted...)
As a school teacher, after learning the metric system, students always ask why we don’t use the metric system since it seems so easy. I challenge you do a day in metric system. Would love to watch that episode!
Watching Jamie spend that much time on designing and measuring a rafter makes me think of all the contractors I’ve worked with that just skipped steps for the easy/wrong way. Great work Jamie!!
It would be an amazing world if every builder would have the quality and work ethic you guys and your team display every single day at the job. This is what America always meant to me ingenuity, qualify and honesty. You guys are amazing, and your families, friends, peers & clients are blessed to have you around. Keep it up!
Agree 100%. Unfortunately, even though home prices space been through the roof, it seems like they can't build them fast enough, and the crews are not as skilled or have the time to pay enough attention to detail. Plus, the inspectors are very suspect and they let a help of a lot pass that shouldn't. My old house that was built in the 50s was built way better than my current house that was built in 1994. I've seen the videos of how crappy the construction is today on half million dollar homes. It's really sad.
@@johnvrabec9747private always beats public... Thats why in Canada we hire private companies to build/demolish stuff. All the public projects take 4-5x longer than planned to complete. No, I'm not necessarily referring to the carrying of an lvl up the stairs. Ray always has a positive attitude and rarely slacks off. Jay on the other hand....
As a guy that operates a Gradall telehandler almost daily, I’m glad to see y’all are finally working smarter and using the proper machine to lift to such heights.
Johnno looks like he has lost a lot of weight. I hope that’s on purpose. Love your channel.. I’m a 79 yr. Old gramma who loves watching you guys build and explain the how and the why. Merry Christmas! To all the crew❤🎉🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Thx Team Perkins for another great video! Like that you guys focus 100% on the project, then (next) on teaching us viewers, with laughs/personality as third priorities. This is in contrast to channels that only care about the TH-cam view checks - and geting free products they'd not use if had to pay for. Thanx guy6s.
I love all of the video series but this is hands down my favorite one. The intricacy, planning, explaining (especially from Jamie) is very intriguing. Keep up the great work and videos, it is much appreciated.
I was raised on Imperial but very quickly we converted to metric. As an old chippie, you'd absolutely LOVE Metric!! Merry Christmas to the whole crew.👍
Good evening from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The mega house is coming along nicely. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family and crew. ☃️🎄🚂
Jaime’s humor is amusing!😂 I must also note that Jono is looking great with his new look! If only he would share his lifestyle change that is making such a positive influence!
One quick comment to Jamie. When you add bridging or other bracing you do not make the structure (it) stronger, you make the structure stiffer. The material strength [for wood or metal] does not change, but as you add additional bracing, bridging, joints, etc, you change the fundamental frequency of the structure in addition to keeping things from warping and prevent racking. Generally, the higher the frequency, the stiffer the structure. This coupled with the appropriate load path, the better your structure will be. The Tacoma Narrows bridge comes to mind..... We enjoy all the episodes! Way better than network news by a wide margin.
I have been binge watching all your videos! It’s fun to see how each guy on the crew gives their expertise to ideas! Sadly I am all caught up! Thank you Brock for getting the new lift. Merry Christmas to all the crew of Perkins Builder Brothers🎄 I love watching all of your videos 🎄
Merry Christmas to you and your families!! Jason you crack me up, from dropping jokes to going boss level on the reinforcements you are just the best kind of nuts to be around! Honestly guys it has been a very hard year for my family and myself and I want to thank you all for the welcome distraction you have given me. I wish you all the very best for the new year!!
It’s nice to see quality builders you can trust. I left Calif for NC (bot acreage/build a hse) & all I hear from homeowners is how much a builder ripped them off, how horribly stressful it was. Well, we don’t hav these issues in California bc of strict laws & penalties (jail & fines). Too bad that’s what it will take due to unscrupulous GCs/builders. Your vids are awesome & so are you guys.

Great show… Skip advertising trashy products. It detracts from the quality of your brand.
That add for 'flavored air' was pretty funny.

This sponsorship is not well thought out
Never take Jamie’s humor for Granite 😂
Read this directly after hearing the dad jokes... You, sir, get a like for that.
🗿
Oh that's good!
Hearing Jamie talk is like a LULLaby
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jamie’s right. “Down to the millimeter “ is very accurate and precise. :-)
for context, its precisely 1/25.4 of an inch
Living in Germany, I can only recommend to use this crazy Millimeter more often😉
@Flip_der_Boarder living in Poland I use it all the time :))
Yeah.. nobody says down to the inches 🤭🤭. mm is the way to go.. except for you Americans, lol
Its less than a sixteenth but its not a 32nd.
God bless your mother Jason, that was really nice of your family to make an appearance.
Ray and Jonno are such good, reliable workers.

I’m loving the episode preview and “stop motion” type Timelapse that I had seen the past few videos. Great job Erik!
Great editing at 19:00. The music stops when the saw dies.
I think Ray is a major MVP. Give the man a raise!
