- Authorities cordoned off the street outside a Buenos Aires hotel on Wednesday after former One Direction singer Liam Payne was found dead.
Local police said the 31-year-old British musician was found dead after falling from his third floor hotel room balcony.
In a statement, the capital police said they were called to the hotel in the capital's leafy Palermo neighborhood where they were notified of an "aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol."
Emergency workers confirmed the death of the singer, who was reportedly found in the hotel's interior patio.
Payne rose to global fame as part of the since-disbanded pop band One Direction, alongside Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.

Hotel staff said he ordered several bottles of alcohol throughout the day and a few minutes before the incident, he was heard destroying the room. When police arrived, they found drugs as well.

I saw a video where they said he did this to himself, he smashed the TV and he was using substances and he was being aggressive...poor guy...also in 2021 he was talking about taking his own life...we don't know for sure what happened tho the truth is gonna be revealed soon🙏🏻😢😢
