    God bless you!! Been dealing with sciatica and buldging disc and I had an mri that showed my buldge is not touching any nerves yet I’m having nerve symptoms!!! If TMS you mean Too Much Stress - much of our chronic health issues are stress induced. Stress changes the body in many ways and can result in many types of symptoms.

    I just came across your channel. TH-cam algorithm suggested your video. You make the most sense out of all the stuff I've looked up. I was working 3 jobs, being a dad to 3 young kids and covid made my wife loose her job. I took a sudafed PE and caused a panic attack for 3 hours. After that, aches and pains started happening all over my body talked to my primary doctor and was diagnosed with anxiety. She said anxiety causes physical pain to me and the pain causes anxiety. So it's a revolving door of misery. I've seen a cardiologist, neurologist, gastroenterologist, obstetrician, and therapist. I've had a few things that physical therapy has helped but the chronic pain that comes and goes all around my body. With no apparent reason. Thank you very much. I didn't know TMS was a thing, was never mentioned by my care team. I have a game plan now after struggling for 6 months. But I'm sure I've had symptoms a lot longer, the mental switch just was not turned on back then.

    Why do we see some people who seem like their life is turned upside down who drink, smoke, do drugs, eat unhealthy, have obvious emotional pain they are covering up, yet they dont manifest these types of symptoms? How come they are able to get to work and do exercise etc? I eat healthy, drink enough water, get enough sleep, am completely sober, I try to get some form of low impact physical movement, take vitamins and supplements and have been in therapy for 4 years and still experience challenging symptoms. They keep moving around in like 2month-1 year increments. Im glad for what I am learning along the process, but it doesnt seem fair or logical.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Nothing about life and health is "fair" or logical. TMS is driven by perceived danger. Many of the folks you describe just don't care. There is no fear. They eat, drink, do drugs and are not worried about anything. Those of us that have fear are often the ones with TMS. Our upbringing also has a lot to do with it. The good news is that we can get well and teach our brain safety. But it's not about perfect nutrition and exercise. It's about teaching the brain we are safe.

      A good diet is good because the body needs decent nutrients. However, I've seen so many people try to use diets to fix their pain and it didn't work. Why? Because a poor diet may not have been the cause of the pain in the first place. This thing called TMS is real and is the cause of a vast majority of chronic pain.

    Hi Dan. Fantastic video, thank you. I believe that TMS could well be causing my chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) / Prostatitis... I have no signs of anything physically wrong at all. After multiple scans MRI and CT scans, no infections found, physiotherapy etc. I'm told that it could be caused by stress. I get tender and painful muscles in my buttocks and hamstrings and urinary type pain and pain in my prostate area/pelvic floor as well. Sometimes pain in my calf muscles and arms too. Have you ever known anyone with Prostatitis/ Pelvic pain symptoms caused by TMS? Thank you for your time.

    Hey Dan! I came across the subject today and did some research. I have a question...Often TmS is desribed in manifesting as mainly back/shoulder pain. But after your description i am wondering if my problem could be TMS too. I am suffering from ideopathic persistent facial pain (atypical facial pain named before) since ca. 6 years now and its getting worse. l did a lot of natural therapy, nothing worked. I always wanted to avoid the recommend chemical medication. But 4 months ago I felt so desperated, I finally gave it a try. Unfortunetly also without any success yet.
    So, if i understand your definition of TMS right, Then it might be helpful for me if i go deeper into the topic....? Did you ever heard about people with similar diagnosis finding relief through TMS Praxis? An advice would be nice :) Sorry for any english mistakes...;)

    Hi Dan
    I recently learnt about TMS and I think I’m going through it. Most of what you explained about TMS it made sense on what I was going through. Whenever I think about the symptom, the feeling I am feeling physically I am feeling it. Im distracted from everything else including my emotions right now as I am writing this I’m in pain (it’s going back and fourth since I’m focusing writing this) I also notice when I’m happy (around family, friends etc.) I don’t feel it.
    I am a overthinker and stress out a lot. This pain came about a few days before school began so I was stressing about it a lot. I also try to repress my emotions a lot, I don’t like dumping/venting out all my trauma onto someone so I keep it inside, I hate feeling sadness so I try to ignore all my emotions
    Do you believe this could be TMS? Thank you

    I believe that as long as it helps or heals then we do not have to worry about the labels because there is a large gray area and so much we are yet to discover. Maybe some people have a little bit of TMS and a little bit of injury related issues but they are both playing off one another. I believe this is what I have. My 20+ year old injury, has, I believe, emotional trauma locked into my cell memory and is manifesting in a TMS kind of way.
    We can make up our own labels if we so choose, the main goal is to get rid of the discomfort. I love the TMS CONCEPT and learning about it has helped me but it is very similar to psycho somatic pain, which predates the idea. Love your video!!!! Nice conversational tone and warm demeanor.

    I also have to ask-once we believe we are safe, do we carefully reintroduce old habits, or resume to life completely?
    I have such a restricted life now that I eat the same few things every day, walk in a lot of the same places, don't work, don't drive, don't see anybody, don't go anywhere in public, can't visit my parents 1000 miles away, etc. And I fear that certain foods could set me back because of things people have told me about benzo withdrawal (which I have been in, or perhaps "believed" I am still in).
    It seems very painfully slow to try to reintroduce every little thing, but I also worry about the idea of setbacks from taking on too much. Wondering how careful I should be with something like this?

    Hello Dan. I've been mostly stuck in the house for about 600 days except for going around my neighborhood due to terrible air hunger from what I thought was "benzo withdrawal" because they say it lasts so long. I have gotten better about believing it is TMS and starting to push myself and noticing a crazy change in my mindset from not believing I'm helpless.
    However, once I've started to believe it is TMS, I still question the aspect about my nervous system being sensitive. Do we ACTUALLY react to certain activities or foods with an overly sensitive CNS, or is it all just our fear telling us "Well, your symptoms are worse and you ate tomatoes last night, so it must be that"?
    Even knowing I can do THAT makes me feel I need to be careful with what I do, because I know that once I exit a more positive mindset, I do end up questioning every new thing I did. So it makes it difficult to go back to living life, which makes me feel trapped, which makes me feel worse symptoms. Is there really anything I need to avoid with TMS?
    The trouble is they say with benzo withdrawal to avoid all kinds of things. And I know that you talk about physical damage to the body, but could there be damage in my brain then?
    Thank you so much Dan. You have been really saving my life. I cannot thank you enough.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If benzo's damaged brains, why can some people taper off of them without problems but others, believe they have been damaged for years? I'm not convinced it's the meds. It could be the expectation that the withdrawal process is hard, wrought with side effects and can leave us desperate for years. Basically - perceived danger.
      The brain is the control center for the nervous system. So if the CNS is highly sensitive it's because the brain is in a state of constant alert. I have been hearing of this "air hunger" more and more lately. I'm not sure it's anything new. People have complained about "shortness of breath" for a long while. If your lungs check out fine and your o2 readings are fine, you are getting plenty of oxygen. It's a sensation. Fear/Perceived danger creates tension. Tension in the chest and abdomen can cause shallow breathing and may be perceived as air hunger.

      I am a 20 year old male. In May 20th I began to have Frequent Urination, a feeling of pressure in my Urethra. When I urinate the stream of urine changes directions like it goes straight then it moves to the side. When I am done urinating it dribbles and it gets my undergarments a little wet. I did not masturbate for 3 days then When I did, my ejaculation was weak and I did not have that feeling I used to before. It’s like my semen just went back where it came from. I also can’t get an erection without stimulation, I used to get them without having to touch myself. I also have constipation and sometimes Loose stools.Before all these symptoms happened I had a moment of Happiness and Sadness. Because the girl who I used to love that left me for another man, talked to me again after months. But when I was happy I began to feel so sad and start to get chills and my body was like cold but at the same time like warm like if I had fever.

    trying to find someone else with finger joint crepitus?

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  ปีที่แล้ว

      According to google, In orthopedic medicine and sports medicine, crepitus describes a popping, clicking or crackling sound in a joint. Joint popping sounds - what some may call bone cracking - may mean that air is moving in the joint, which is usually harmless.
      What is more important than finding someone with your diagnosis is to figure out the cause of your discomfort. The two assessments here will help you understand if your brain is creating the pain or if the body is at fault. www.PainFreeYou.com/start
      Once you know that your brain is creating the pain, you can disregard the diagnosis and focus on teaching your brain to end the pain. My fast start playlist will give you the knowledge and tools. DansFastStart.com

    How does one know if it is not RSI, Repetitive Stress Injury. Arms and back are hurting from too much computer work. Maybe I just need a few weeks of no computer use to give the muscles and tensions time to heal.

      RSI is a medical diagnosis. It is often just TMS. Not sure what TMS is? Watch this video for more detail: PainFreeYou.com.
      Want to find out if YOUR pain is TMS? Take the pain test. Any score above 29 is TMS and CAN be healed. DanBuglio.com/paintest
      Lastly - once you know it's TMS and not some medical label given to you by doctors - this is how to eliminate it: th-cam.com/video/3vJgBnrhFt8/w-d-xo.html
      What's your evidence you injured your hands/wrists from typing on a computer keyboard? The presence of pain does not prove injury.

    Hello, can depression and social anxiety cause tms? I’m currently suffering from brain fog and body weakness. However, I noticed that my symptoms get trigerred when I’m in a stressfull situation.
    I’m really considering if this is TMS.

      Yes social situations and stress can definitely cause TMS. Brain fog and weakness are two common TMS symptoms. Perceived danger explains a lot to me. Watch this video: th-cam.com/video/tnU6KBAv5fg/w-d-xo.html
      Once you understand what is going on, safety is the solution.
