This is why I have consistently watched Nouman Ali Khan's video for years. He taught and explained the Qu'ran unlike no other. No one went into details - context, meaning of words (their roots, etymology), unlike NAK. Which really has a huge impact on ... everything. It has inspired me to look into it myself, and teach the youth. May Allah SWT reward NAK, his team, and those supporting him, and keep him steadfast.
آمين يا رب العالمين BarakAllahu feek. May Allah swt allow your efforts to make an impact and for those you teach to teach others until the Last Day. آمين يا رب العالمين السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ

Mahsallah, I just wanted to say, i am so grateful for this video, im a new convert in Islam and started to really try and learn what the quran teaches. I am a mother of 3 young children under the gaes of 5 years old and i am really really trying to learn and know more about Islam and especially rhe quran. I really want tonlearn from the quran and not by hear say of what other say how things should be because i want to look for anwsers in the quran . Ive started to write notes from what im learning. But i have not learned anything as close to this video. Ive seen and followed some of your pasts videos and this specific one has been so much of help, especially what you said at the end of this video. From no one really teaches you what the quran says, you can read it but no one is really there to guide you through it. I am so grateful for what you do and are doing in the islam community and teaching (for free) online and making it accessible for anyone and everyone who is willing to learn. May Allah bless you and your family a trillion times for what you are doing . Honestly, thank you a million times and i am looking foward to all your other videos inshallah.
You lucky you found this teacher! Stick to him and you will not live in terror of God like the usual run of the mill types who tell us what to do and pick out all the punishment waiting for us!
Congratulations sister for accepting the message. It is heartening to know about your efforts to learn Quran despite having young children. As a parent I can appreciate how hard it can be. May Allah keep you steadfast in this path and bless you abundantly with all that is good in this world and in hereafter.
After feeling very disheartened by the genocide which is taking place in Gaza currently, and I admit I started feeling this hatred towards Israel as a whole nation. But I thank you Ustaad for reflecting this surah so beautifully that it made me realise how ignorant we humans can become sometimes, for blaming the whole nation of something that is done by particular groups of Jews. I let my emotions to rule my thoughts. I have long way to go, before I understand the wisdom of Allah’s book (Quran). The change starts today and now! May Allah bless Ustaad Nouman and his whole team for putting effort in this series of surah and delivering Allah’s words so gracefully and compassionately. PS this reminds me of a quote I read long time ago. Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. Rumi
I came across this speaker on IG, and really liked that he seemed much more human and approachable than others I listen to. Like more aware if the human heart and that it's okay to have big feelings and also icky feelings like resentment and impatience. At least that's what I understood and I felt more accepted with my imperfections than by other speakers who tell you you have to never feel those feelings.
The holy month of Ramadan is a glorious opportunity for all of us to start fresh with a positive body, mind and soul….. Wishing you a very Happy Ramadan.

Listening to the last part of this lecture. Sadly... here in South Africa..our teacher don't teach the Quraan in this manner where they read the Quraan to us and explain it. They only know the Fazaili Amal. Well at least with listening to you, I explain to my children.

Assalamlaikum everyone alhamdulillah for islam alhamdulillah for quran may allah SWT continue to guide us all may allah SWT keep us all on the straight path
NAK, your points in the last 5 minutes of this lecture really resonated with me. Quite often times as people of Ibrahimic mindset fall short by not studying and discussing and seeking out further commentary and guidance on God's word. God's word is a living word & your work is special to me because it gives a depth of guidance and targets to aim at for myself personally. Thanks be to God for inspiring you and your team for unpacking and expanding and exploring with us. I know that I love to tune in for sometimes new insight and sometimes comfort when aspects of my character that I thought were my own are actually pleasing to God. God bless you all again

Yes, most of us in our home country, are not encouraged to read or listen or study Quran to understand or just to listen by mother language. When I started attempting to understand Quran, first thing I choose to just listen the Quran in my mother-language and then to read only in my mother language. Now when I recite Quran, the text messages of Almighty Allah Taa’la for me and for all of us, it seems I understand Arabic 😮 🤷♀️🙂🤔, like yes I’m and He is talking, Sub Han Allah! We are Muslim and we should encourage us to read Quran to read the text-massages of Allah Suhana Taa’la for me and all.
Thank you for your insightful and eye-opening lecture. I listened attentively and was particularly drawn to the points you made around the 28-30 minute mark. If I may summarize my understanding, you highlighted three key ideas: 1- Allah, the All-Knowing, chose to address the most unlettered people by sending a messenger who spoke their language, used their accent, and understood their cultural expressions. 2 - Allah’s plan ensured that no one could claim His words were too complicated or beyond understanding. 3 -You mentioned that, unlike some other religions where elites claim the authority to interpret scriptures for their followers, Islam emphasizes direct access to Allah’s words without intermediaries. If my summary is accurate, I have a few questions based on these points: 1 - If Allah chose to speak to Arabic speakers directly in their language without requiring translation or complex interpretation, how is it fair for non-Arabic speakers to rely on secondhand translations or learn Arabic to understand the Quran? 2- If the Quran is written in a simple and clear language, why are there so many books of tafsir (exegesis)? 3 - Are there any "Islamic elites"? If so, why do they exist, and how do they align with the idea of direct access to Allah’s words? I ask these questions as a curious human seeking understanding, so I kindly request that your response avoid phrases like "In Allah's wisdom." Thank you again for your time and insights.

Apart from the historical events from the very earliest days of Islam, the Holy Quran Itself has multiple references to the hypocrites both in and around Medina…
Mostly we are made to read it or recited to us, but NO explanation and no discussion and when questions are asked accusations are made of questioning the word of God. Mostly told to be terrified of God for all the mistakes and sins and sins are defined as eg a strand of hair showing or wrong hemline or debates about what women should and not do PLUS women not allowed to go the mosques but stay at home and have meals prepared , children looked after, house cleaned while men go to mosque then come home for punctual prepared meals so women are denied the time for their spirituality esp during Ramzaan. Gender based inequity for spiritual development and then men go with other men for months for Jamat travelling ! This is refreshing, practical, relevant, empowering and the way it should be ie read it as a book of knowledge for understanding ,empowerment so we do ethical living out of love of God which is self regulating not terror of God and being policed by family and society. This is the most intelligent kind and authentic teaching I have ever had from a male Muslim scholar.
46:41 the greatness of the message and the humbleness of our messenger however the mushrkon said to him, maybe he يتلو "needing something, didn't get the آية right, and then they called him insane and magician to avoid what he تلاوة, the first step didn't get right then the second one and so on, shifted to the people appreciating What was given to them of the ayat, May Allah reward you ustadh and appreciate what Allah gave us from his precious Ayat and do shukur that pleases him, Ameen
Thank you brother. I learned a whole lot from this lecture and even took notes. I have read the entire Qur’an but my understanding of it is not too well. Please continue to make more videos. May Allah bless you and reward you. Selam.
What a refreshing lesson. I've learned soooo much in the partial explanations of the first 2 verses of Surah Jummah. ❤ May Allah massively reward you for this Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan!
Goim means qawm, tribes/nations. Gentile is the term which also literally means nation but it's used for other nations than Israel, which is usually used synonymsly as ummiyyin (unlettered).
Alhamdullilah for this beautiful explanation and insight. Thank you, Ustad , for the constant reminders. And all praise to Allah , the An-Nur , for providing us and blessing us with the opportunity to listen to this. May we learn the right meanings and remain steadfast on the teachings of Allah subhanahu wa ta ‘ ala. Ameen.

Thank you for your insightful and eye-opening lecture. I listened attentively and was particularly drawn to the points you made around the 28-30 minute mark. If I may summarize my understanding, you highlighted three key ideas:
1- Allah, the All-Knowing, chose to address the most unlettered people by sending a messenger who spoke their language, used their accent, and understood their cultural expressions.
2 - Allah’s plan ensured that no one could claim His words were too complicated or beyond understanding.
3 -You mentioned that, unlike some other religions where elites claim the authority to interpret scriptures for their followers, Islam emphasizes direct access to Allah’s words without intermediaries.
If my summary is accurate, I have a few questions based on these points:
1 - If Allah chose to speak to Arabic speakers directly in their language without requiring translation or complex interpretation, how is it fair for non-Arabic speakers to rely on secondhand translations or learn Arabic to understand the Quran?
2- If the Quran is written in a simple and clear language, why are there so many books of tafsir (exegesis)?
3 - Are there any "Islamic elites"? If so, why do they exist, and how do they align with the idea of direct access to Allah’s words?
I ask these questions as a curious human seeking understanding, so I kindly request that your response avoid phrases like "In Allah's wisdom."
