I love that our biggest holidays remain a direct connection to the earliest days of humanity. We have the internet and ships in space, but we're still the same tribe gazing up at the Sun and Moon as we were in the beginning. It's marvellous.

@@flyingpaladin617 I think the comment is more about emotional connection and symbolism of life. But, yes, we are the same savages, for the most part. Just look at crime, corruption and abuse. We don't change, just create more stuff.

We celebrate the winter solstice as a neighborhood. We meet at one person’s home after the sun goes down, we dip pine cones in peanut butter and seeds, and then we hike in the dark through the trails behind our neighborhood. We hike to a special spot in the woods where the leader of the group recites a poem. We then lay the pine cones as an offering to Mother Nature, and then return to have a pot luck supper at one of the neighbors homes. It’s a long standing tradition in the neighborhood and it’s really special. 💖

@@michellenason9501 - No wash or bake, just be careful when you light them cuz they may have pine tar on them & may flame quickly. Blow flame out but If it flames too much just throw it in the kitchen sink & sprinkle water on it.

My Coven , just this year grew large enough that we drew names for Solstice gifts. Our only requirement is the gifts must be hand made and not store purchased. , That's the individuals gifts. We also give a gift to the Coven itself. This year my gifts to the Coven are hollowed out and carved painted Ostrich eggs that are meant to be tea light candle holders to go at the quarters , each carved with a pentagram on it and painted in elemental colors. My gift to our Coven's Priestess are masks that I did an acrylic pour paint job on them. One being feminine , the other masculine. Split cup pours that turned out really nice.

We call christmas for "jul" her in Norway. "Jul" comes from the norse words Jól or Jólablót which were the old norse celebration of the sun returning. I`ve always been so happy over the fact that they never christianized that word but kept it pagan.

@Natternkopf Sonnenkönig I thought the G in English was started as a way to clarify how it was pronounced. "G" is just a "C" with an added line to make the harder "g" sound rather than the softer "c/k" sound.

Good luck in finding your path to follow and take your time learning all that you can before moving onto spells and things, learn the meanings behind it all. Blessed Be

As someone who grew up Christian it fascinates me how many of our "Christmas" traditions have a base in the original pagan holiday. From the mistletoe to the start we place on top of the tree. So much of it comes from the pagan holiday and honestly most of us have no idea. I'm just now learning about all of it, at 27 years old. I think the original traditions are beautiful and to give thanks to the Earth and nature I am beginning to follow these traditions in their original form. For what they were originally for.

Mark Gailmor ♥♥♥ACTUALLY, PAGANISM IS JUST A REMNANT OF THE ANCIENT ACCOUNT FOUND IN THE BOOK OF GENESIS CHAPTER SIX AND OF THE BOOK OF ENOCH CHAPTER SIX. THE ANCIENT SONS OF GOD WENT DOWN TO EARTH, WENT ON THEIR SEPARATE WAYS AND STARTED THEIR OWN FAMILIES WHILE BEING WORSHIPPED AS GODS WITHIN THEIR OWN SEPARATE REALMS. FOR BETTER INSPIRATION, PLAY THE UPCOMING "GOD IF WAR" BY SANTA MONICA STUDIOS WHICH WILL SOON BE REALEASED BY SONY PLAYSTATION. OUR CREATOR, "YHWH," WANTED HUMANS TO FORGET ABOUT WHAT HIS OTHER SONS DID BEFORE AND DURING THE DAYS OF NOAH SO HE SENT HIS ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON DOWN TO EARTH AND THEN FORBADE SOME OF THEIR SERVANTS, ANCIENT CHRISTIANS, FROM PRACTICING DIVINATION, MAGIC, SORCERY AND ANYTHING SUPERNATURALLY POWERFUL THAT IS UNAUTHORIZED. THE ONLY REASON WHY WE STILL WORSHIP THOSE ANCIENT GODS IS BECAUSE THE CHILDREN AND STEPCHILDREN OF NOAH FOUND THEIR REMNANTS, I.E., GIANT HOUSES TURNED INTO TEMPLES, TECHNOLOGIES, ARTS, WRITTEN, PAINTED AND CARVED CULTURES, ETC.♥♥♥

Didn't hear it mentioned but for a bountiful year you can spread the Yule ashes on your garden in the spring.

Thank you for this lovely video! It has really put me in the festive mood and got me thinking about rituals Id like to perform :) your comment about coming out to the world and being who you are really struck me- I've been trying to come out more about my path, but uts been hard. Hearing you say that feels a bit like a sign... Im going to start wearing a pentacle this new year, because it represents who I am and I should never be afraid of that.
Thanks again, with much love and light

Thank you so much , I’m new & trying to learn as much as I can . I don’t have money to buy books . So your video is much appreciated thanks again for all the information you shared ! Could I use apples from a tree that I wouldn’t eat & no one does they just fall off the tree & animals eat them or they rot . I was thinking they’ll be fine to hang as long as there just for decoration . 🎄🌲🍎 🍊 🍋☪️💜
