I was looking for an easy tutorial on this song for so long, other channels were just a little too hard, but you explained everything perfectly, thank you so much!!
Thanks for watching Abu! Any “Chromatic Tuner” app will allow you to tune to any note you want. There is one called “insTuner Free - Chromatic tuner” that has good reviews in the App Store. I also recommend clip-on tuners such as those by Snark and Polytune. Tuning by ear is also a great skill which I teach in my private lessons
Thanks for watching! If your open strings sound in tune, but the higher notes don’t, you may be having an intonation issue. Intonation is how in tune the instrument is with itself. The first thing to check is that you are playing the notes as gently as possible without accidentally bending the strings out of alignment (this will make them go sharp). The next thing to consider is the quality of your ukulele and how long it has been since it was restrung and setup. Most cheaper instruments are not capable of intonating very well, especially on the higher frets. If you spent less than $200 on your instrument, the fact you can hear the difference is a good sign that you may be ready to invest and grow into a more intermediate/advanced instrument! If you already have a more expensive ukulele, you may just need to get the action adjusted and a set of fresh strings to make sure it plays as in-tune as possible across the whole neck. Keep in mind, even the nicest instruments in the world are not perfect, but they get much closer!
For example, you may notice your strings growing increasingly far away from the frets the higher up the neck you (such as the 8th fret). If this is too extreme the truss rod may need to adjusted. However, not all instruments have an adjustable truss rod
Thanks for watching Cristiano! This song definitely is an unorthodox tuning. Using a chromatic tuner or chromatic tuning app will allow you to tune to any note rather than just the standard ukulele tuning. You still have to make sure you’re in the correct octave. If you’re still having trouble I’d recommend getting help from a friend the first time, or happy to show you in an online coaching session if you need further help!
Thanks for watching! This is a tenor ukulele. Soprano, concert, and tenor ukuleles are all tuned the same way, so you could tune any of them down to this tuning. It will probably be a little floppier sounding due to the shorter scale length, and trickier to play the smaller higher frets on the soprano, but still possible!
Thanks for watching! Cordoba is a solid brand in my experience! I haven’t played that one, but should be a good choice! Soprano ukuleles are smaller keep in mind. Mine is a tenor, which is a bit easier for people with larger hands to navigate. The tone is deeper and warmer on a tenor, and brighter on a soprano. Let me know how it goes!
Thanks for watching Oliver! Yes, thats definitely a trick spot! To get used to the rhythm I recommend slowing the video down to .75 and listening, then humming/singing/drumming along with it. If it’s the hammer ons/pulloffs giving you trouble, focus on grabbing the string confidently and smoothly (as to not stop the vibration) rather than trying to use more strength. They’re about being snappy with your fingers, not strong. Happy jamming!
Thanks for watching! I recommend using a chromatic tuner or chromatic tuner app if you have trouble tuning by ear. Otherwise I recommend listening and rewinding the tuning portion of the video while you adjust each string accordingly!
Thanks for watching! I find that while chord charts can make learning a song initially a bit faster, using your ear and memorizing it as you go allows you to master the song faster and improves your musicianship! In some of my other lessons you’ll see I actually don’t allow students to see the fingerings until after they’ve used their ears to find the notes , that’s how I teach my private students as well! The goal is for you to be able to teach yourself songs someday, no charts or tabs needed!
@guitar by ear Bro can you actually teach me that? I get it but there's certain things I don't know. Hit me up if you can my guy. Salamat (thank you) 🦾🦾🦾

If anyone can’t do the F chord for the first string, I tried E and it worked just fine. (Hope this helps)
Could you possibly send me the link to where you got your ukulele
Hi Bryce! I got it in-person at the Music Emporium in Lexington, MA. The model is a Pono Acacia Tenor
