    The amazing thing for me is that I had been to Barcelona 7 times before , and I had actually never heard of the the hospital, that is until just a few weeks ago. I just returned from Barcelona yesterday, and undoubtedly the Hospital Saint Pau was the highlight!! It is an extraordinary collection of buildings, or pavilions. Obviously built as a functioning hospital, but what makes it extraordinary is the artistic flourishes which adorn the buildings, they are just stunning!! it is also very well documented, that is the visitor will know and understand the creation, history and function of the hospital through the decades. You will come away well informed about it. I would urge anyone visiting Barcelona, to make the hospital a high priority to see. It is just fantastic!!

    I was there in 2012 when it was still a hospital, I could only walk around one of the patios and it was breathtaking! So peaceful and beautiful. The main halls were under restoration, so they were closed to the public. I will go back soon and see it again with my very own eyes!

    I visited Barcelona this past October and this hospital was the highlight of my trip. Seriously, I found myself more impressed with this particular architectural wonder than anything else I saw. In fairness though, with the exception of Park Guell, I only saw the outside of the many famous Gaudi designed buildings. Saved inside tours for a future visit when I hope to have more time to explore.

      It really is a good one! I think not having the hype the other buildings do is what surprises so many!

    Awesome tour! I've been inside the old hospital de la santa creu in raval so many times, but never learned the history before. Very cool, thanks Patrick!

    I appreciate your video, as we will be visiting for two weeks in Barcelona this May. I love the camera work and your commentary, but the super pepped up music is really distracting and doesn't work with the beauty of the video. Still, it's lovely to see. Thank you

    I've been going to ibiza twice a year for years but I can't get used to these youtubers' videos where there is such a gap between the image and the sound. Why put fairground music on this video?

    Great video Patrick. Is this complex too big for young kids ? Is it similar to the Palau de la musica or are both worth seeing ? Thank you.

      @PatrickGuideBarcelona  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Leto! Young kids would be fine there. It’s not too big. Bigger than the Palau

    Great information, but the music could be worlds better. Why not an acoustic guitar solo from a Barcelona artist instead of insipid selection of robotic soulless electronica?

    Good video and content. Horrendous and out of place music.
