Joey was youngest driver at 18 to ever race in the sprint cup. The veteran drivers bullied Joey‘s so bad, that more often Joey‘s own father used to have to come in and fight his battles for him. Just to show how undeserving this championship was, Kyle Busch in 2015, despite only competing in 25 races, *still* fared better in nearly *every* statistical metric than Joey Logano did in 2024 across 36 races. Busch 2015: 5 wins, 12 top 5s, 16 top 10s, 21 top 20s, 1 pole, 2 DNF’s, 736 laps led, 8.2 average start, 10.78 average finish. Yet someone who can win at the right time does.. The main thing I think everyone can agree on is that the championship race shouldn’t be “a race” but a few races as there’s just to many variables in a single race.
Trying to compare NASCAR’s playoff to basketball, football, etc. makes no sense. In those sports, every team plays 10%-30% (depending upon the sport) of the other teams and then only once during the regular season in football, once or twice in basketball. Playoffs or tournaments are necessary to determine the overall best that year even if occasionally a lower team has a hot streak. In NASCAR, every team competes against every other team every race weekend. At the end of the season there’s no question about who the best team of that season is. I still follow NASCAR, but the best (in this case luckiest) team the last ten races is most probably wasn’t the best team the total season.
@susievazquez3167 All I'm saying is there are 12 drivers that had a statistically better season than the "champion" of the sport. If they are going to determine who the best of the year is, then NASCAR needs a system that does better than crowning someone in the top 13.
need a provisional. if the reg season champ, or wins leader misses any round, only one of them can use a provisional per round, and he is added to the backside of the round with zero playoff points. that driver can use it once at any point of any round, so it keeps them racing every round. if they get to the 8, they can use it as an automatic birth, but that also would be discouraged because if they use it, that will allow a championship round of 5 and less of a chance to win the title
Every team and all the drivers know the rules (regular season and playoffs) before the season starts. Whoever executes Both the best should be the champion. This show is defending the championship. Joey is defending his championship. NASCAR has been defending the championship. The issue is that no other sport is defending their championship. This show is defending the championship. Joey is defending his championship. NASCAR has been defending the championship. The issue is that no other sport is defending their championship. They don’t have to. Just the fact that this is all the conversation shows that NASCAR has an enormous problem. You can’t have a legitimate sport if you’re constantly defending the champion to your own fans. This is why other motorsports are gonna continue to make fun of this clown-show.
The regular season champ was in the final 4. Larson went in with what... 57 points!
The whining is just Logano haters. I wouldn't mind if the playoffs got tweeked, but to say Logano didn't deserve it is ridiculous.
They need to bring back Winston Cup points
Joey logano should of been banned for the year after his actions on pit road after the race was finished he dangerously put people lives in danger there was a young woman with a baby!!! logano actions in that moment is disgusting and nascar makes him a champion Joey logano is the biggest cry baby of nascar
Kaitlyn looks great as always
This playoff system needs to reward consistency not 1 day luck . Win your in needs to go .
thank you
Just make the last round a 3 rounder and reduce the regular season done
One day luck??? Wins matter. I remember the days of guys just not caring about anything but a top ten. It was boring
In the video they say Logano won the second most races this season. He and his team deserved it.
Agree completely.
Handrick fans stop crying, the 24 cheats to get into the final four, and you're still crying
If the 24 didn’t get in because of the cheating of the 1 and 3, should the 20 have gotten in even though he cheated? And if neither the 24 nor 20 got in then that means the 5, another Hendricks car, would have.
HMS fans are NOT crying! Opinions & discussions doesn’t mean anyone is ‘crying’ …sheesh 🙄
Can't count this as a real championship. Sorry, Joey
I'm sure he's heartbroken.
His bonus nor the record book doesn't give a care on your opinions
Not to bright, are ya?!🤣
No one cares.
But if it were your fave driver in Loganos shoes you'd be praising
@nascar, change the format. Joey shouldn’t have won this
Wrong not his fault period! 48 cheated and got caught
He won, get over it.
